  • FUKU is becoming nothing more than jobs for the boys - so many official groups iaea - icrp -UN - NRC all with grubby little fingers in the pie greedily stealing the fruit whilst the people can't even get basic answers
    by elainekirk 7/26/2011 9:58:34 PM

  • I don't care about how much radiation an astronaut gets or preventative medicine or standing out side... it's all elective things that we do,,, I care about industrial exposures to workers on the site, at the plant or within the high rad areas where ever they are in the country... remember there are no acceptable exposure levels of radiation from any nuclear industrial source in my opinion. I want the original levels established and used for years to be left alone
    by dean 7/26/2011 9:59:41 PM

  • @elainekirk Maybe it is because I am really tired this afternoon but this reads like a Monty Python sketch...
"This Task Group (TG) will compile lessons learned related to the efforts carried out to protect people against radiation exposure during and after the emergency exposure situation caused by the Nuclear Power Plant accident in Japan. In light of these lessons, the report of the TG will consider the suitability of ad hoc recommendations for the ICRP system of radiological protection for dealing with this type of emergency exposure.

The TG will prepare a report for publication in the Annals of the ICRP containing its findings and assessment, and make recommendations to the ICRP Main Commission on any other follow up actions, including potential improvements to the System of Radiological Protection.

A separate Committee 4 TG on review and potential revision of ICRP Publications 109 and 111 is already envisaged which would make direct use of the findings and assessment of this Main Commission TG. Therefore, this Main Commission TG is expected to provide only a general assessment in this area."

  • @elaine seems in the moment TEPCO is opening world greatest steam bath at sfp#4, new good business with that ruine?
    by Puc 7/26/2011 10:07:01 PM

  • @lillymunster Oh I can explain that
We are forming a couple of task group these are defined by personality / friendship/vested interest
these groups will each think up an obscure reason for their existance (and hefty expense claims) and get the secretary to write their collective offerings up
we will then publish these on our siite as reports that will tell you damn all but will have given us a bit of fun at public expense
that is how uk charities work#
    by elainekirk 7/26/2011 10:08:59 PM

  • @Puc I think actually that some ikinda heat haze and smoke coming from 3 is getting drawn across and up if you look closely it is pulsing out of 3
    by elainekirk 7/26/2011 10:11:35 PM

  • @elainekirk Do they get public funds for this?
    by lillymunster 7/26/2011 10:19:58 PM

  • new sampling points have been added to tepco's schedule from now on for example (there are other eye openers) there will be testing for

  • The video of the residents' meeting boingboing.net should wake people up, but I am afraid that most assume that their governments would behave better. It reminds me of a clip I saw of Hilary Clinton giving a speech supporting peoples right to peaceful protest. One older man in the audience remained standing throughout as a protest against Hilary Clinton's war connections. He was suddenly jumped on and manhandled out, (very roughly by 2 huge security guys) right in front of her, the audience and the cameras. She carried on apparantley completely oblivious to the irony of the situation, as though she wasn't hearing her own words.
    by Cat 7/26/2011 10:34:05 PM

  • @dean I bet that'll be changing cant see Switzerland tolerating any back scratching after this
    by elainekirk 7/26/2011 10:34:05 PM

  • @Cat oh I would like to see that
    by elainekirk 7/26/2011 10:34:58 PM

  • The last plant parameters are from the 25th. None for 26th at all, none for 27th yet. The ones on 25th showed #4 sfp 83c. Unit 3 sfp 30c. Unit 3 both reactor temps 120c or less and that is around the same range as Unit 2. So something could have changed since the 25th. As usual with TEPCO when they stop giving information that is where or when to go see what they are up to because they are usually hiding something METI 25th stats www.meti.go.jp
    by lillymunster 7/26/2011 10:35:07 PM

  • @elainekirk I can't find the link, but my brother is back tomorrow and he sent it to me so I will post it for you when I get it
    by Cat 7/26/2011 10:37:24 PM

  • @Cat "Don't taze me bro", protest zones etc. Sometimes the US really comes off as tone deaf in international policy. Some of the NRC statements don't come across any better than what METI shovels at people.
