  • @artnuke...I don't think I like what you're saying. I seriously doubt AlQuaida signs his paycheck, and I don't think that the "goodness" or lack thereof of the people of Fallujah, Lebanon, Gaza, Kosovo is an appropriate one for a human being. Even if you think all Muslims are demonized whatever who deserve to burn in hell for all of eternity, that probably belongs on the other side (the organize/anything goes) of the Scribble live blog. If I am mis-reading your comment, and the not good guys are I dunno, environmental groups in those locales, then I apologize in advance.

  • These outlets have reported on Busby: •BBC reported Fallujah study (they also reported on 9-11 truth movement)
    •Tokyo Shinbun
But check out these outlets are very, very politically slanted, most of these sound like propoganda outlets for the War on Israel. I'm not Jewish, but very leery of the people who are opposed to Jewish states, or supporting Arab/Muslim causes. There's a deep political dimension to the Morets and Busbys of this anti-nuclear scare movement

  • @wrshpr well you should always see if a source is carrying around any other political agenda. In the interest of disclosure I do come from a conservative and christian background. Nothing wrong with being radical leftist for Palestine, but it's not completely obvious where Busby comes from until you do a bit of research of what groups he is advocating for, and it's usually the same group, Japan is a new group for his research, but usually it's been related to Arabs or other Muslims from battle zones.

    Typhoon Roke brings downpours

A very strong typhoon is approaching western Japan, bringing downpours and increasing the risk of mudslides and river flooding.

The Meteorological Agency says that as of 6 AM on Wednesday, Typhoon Roke was moving in a northeasterly direction at 30 kilometers per hour over waters to the south of Wakayama Prefecture.

Parts of western and central Japan were hit by downpours of 40 to 50 millimeters per hour. Over 450 millimeters of rain fell in some areas in one day.

Forecasters say the typhoon will gradually pick up speed and make landfall in western or eastern Japan on Wednesday.

  • I was skeptical that the chart M.I.A. posted www.scribblelive.com is actually isotope release data, as he notes he only assumed it is given the descriptive text is Japanese. He cited June 6 as the date it was published. But these are the only radionuclide analyses Tepco posted on Jun 6, for air www.tepco.co.jp ,
dust www.tepco.co.jp , and seawater www.tepco.co.jp . All are limited to I-131, and Cs 134 and 137, not lots of plutonium, strontium and almost every radionuclide an NPP might ever emit.

  • @elainekirk - I also stumbled across these hanging stairs yesterday (or so), but because of your question I tried to find something.
I checked all cryptome daiichi-photos and at least found this.
    on cryptome.org
    last picture:
These stairs must hang from the building (tallest) straight opposit of unit 3 and on this photo one can see that there's quite a lot of superstructure on top. I also checked the original image (from zip) it does give a closer view, but not enough to make sure.

  • @Ian : ok it is estimated. the title says: 表5 解析で対象とした期間での大気中への放射性物質の放出量の試算値(Bq) "Table 5 Estimated amount of radioactive material released into the atmosphere over the time period covered by the analysis (Bq)"
the subtitle is: ※:表4で示す各ケースのうち、実態の1号機では感度解析ケース2、2号機では事業者解析ケース2、3号機では事業者解析ケース2 "※: one for each case shown in Table 4, the real No. 1 is No. cases No. cases 2,3 2,2 Analysis Sensitivity analysis is an analysis of operator business case 2"

Assessment about the state of the core Unit 2 and Unit 3
    June 06, 2011
    Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency
    1. Circumstances
Nuclear Safety Agency, with a document dated 25 April 2011, for TEPCO nuclear source material, in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 67 of the Act on Regulation of Nuclear Fuel Material and Reactors, Tokyo Electric Power Co. Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear I ordered a report on driving records and accident records pertaining to power plant accident, were reported as recovered from such record date, May 16, the central control room from TEPCO.
Nuclear Safety Agency (the "NISA" it.), Considering the said report, with a document dated 16 May, the safety of nuclear facilities based on the analysis of the records before and after the earthquake off the northeastern Pacific Ocean TEPCO was instructed to report on the results of the evaluation of the impact of the evaluation results were reported in the May 23 date.
NISA, considering the said report, May 24, along with the show and NISA evaluation considerations, May 23, the date reported for the analysis and evaluation on the state of the reactor core, as it takes time to evaluate the NISA from, upon completion of the evaluation, it was put together.
    2. Overview of the evaluation of TEPCO
Operating data from the earthquake just before they are submitted in May 16, bell, or at the time of the transient behavior of the plant, and equipment operating conditions, etc. Based on the data that is obtained an objective record, severe accident analysis code assess the status of the plant is using MAAP. The results are as follows."

  • @Edano, bless you! :) These data are really important as the heavy-fuel isotopes are a concession of core breaches, and in each reactor!
    by Ian 9/21/2011 12:09:22 AM

  • @Ian yes, it's an important document and it has been quoted several times here. i will pin it, so i don't have to do another search.
    by Edano 9/21/2011 12:12:55 AM

  • @lillymunster, as I've been rounding up reports of three full melts, I've noticed that CNN has been one of the better media sources in terms of reporting bad news for anti-safety (ie, pro-nuke) advocates about Fuku. For example, the admission on June 6th of full melts in each reactor was ignored by almost all US media except CNN. New York Times, for example, appears not to've reported it despite earlier comprehensive reportage. Even newswire services like Reuters appear to've ignored that major news event.
    by Ian 9/21/2011 12:17:14 AM

  • @Ian I wonder if it has something to do with Ted Turner? He turned anti-nuke after he married Jane Fonda and is involved in some anti-nuclear group. So corporate ownership could have something to do with CNN being more open about what is going on?
