    by elainekirk 10/8/2011 8:06:58 PM

  • @lillymunster I see what MIA means now I couldnt get tho original full screen
    by elainekirk 10/8/2011 8:08:05 PM

  • I had a headache for about 10min after watching that. I have photos done. I can wait until MIA returns to post them. I think it is the equipment gate in both photos. Since there is what looks like boiling water in the equipment pool, a crack between the reactor well and equipment gate that has been spewing steam for months and still is, TEPCO knows something. They checked this same area twice. The video edano posted showed steam coming out of that crack between the two and it is a fairly new video. Steam and boiling doesn't sound like cold shutdown. IIRC the SFP at 4 was boiling like that when between 80-90 c.

  • hopper, if he alludes to the study by Hess and others (I was able to access only the abstract), he must mean the clip2 gene en.wikipedia.org . Note that only one third of the children with tumors and exposed to low level radiation showed this anomaly.

  • @lillymunster I feel bad that I didnt see what MIA meant but I did say we needed you techi's I am useless

  • @elainekirk no your not! :-)
    by lillymunster 10/8/2011 8:29:35 PM

  • @elainekirk I had to put it on Youtube to get it full screen. TEPCO always puts them up as windows video and you can't do much with it or see anything.
    by lillymunster 10/8/2011 8:30:37 PM

  • @lillymunster I cant even post them I just hope edano is around when I find them lol

  • @Peter it is a blow out panel that removes with hinges.

  • @lillymunster , did tepco blow it out?
    by Peter 10/8/2011 8:40:00 PM

  • @lillymunster @Peter tepco said early on that they had removed it thought?
    by elainekirk 10/8/2011 8:41:38 PM

  • TEPCO said it fell out when 3 blew up. I think someone removed it to vent.
    by lillymunster 10/8/2011 8:44:34 PM

  • @lillymunster ahh
    by elainekirk 10/8/2011 8:50:26 PM

  • @lillymunster , Elaine, exactly, had it been blown out by an explosion, we would see more damage inside. The operators must have done this.

    by Peter via I1214.photobucket 10/8/2011 8:57:13 PM

  • @Edano , looks much too neat for an explosion. Why did not they do the same in units 3 and 4? Perhaps you are correct in only unit 2 had this option.
    by Peter 10/8/2011 8:59:02 PM

  • @Peter i have been searching for a similar panel in the other reactors, but if they have it, it is not that obvious. i would say they don't have it.
    by Edano 10/8/2011 9:00:49 PM

  • @Edano unit 1 turbine building has a similar uniform hole I don't know if it was removeable panel or if they cut it with an industrial saw.

  • Iwate fishers sell oysters at traditional hut shop

Oyster farmers in northeastern Japan have served grilled oysters to customers for the first time since the March 11th disaster. The dish is a specialty of a town that was destroyed by tsunami.

The oyster sale is part of a 2-day event in Iwaizumi, Iwate Prefecture to promote local seafood and matsutake mushrooms.

The event features 27 booths and is being held to inform people about the ongoing reconstruction of Iwate's coastal areas.

The oysters come from the nearby town of Yamada.

People in Yamada have been struggling to get the oyster farms back into operation because many facilities were destroyed by tsunami. But they managed to harvest just enough oysters for the occasion.

A visitor from Shizuoka Prefecture in central Japan said he was buying oysters to help support the disaster-hit area.
