  • Hi Shadow!

  • @lilly.. that statement.. "neutrons that exist inside the building" is bogus...
    by dean 11/2/2011 2:20:24 AM

  • @lilly. .it needs clarification.. neutrons don't just do that. .they have to come from somewhere ... not like they are sitting around someplace
    by dean 11/2/2011 2:21:19 AM

  • @lillymunster @elainekirk Thanks, just trying to catch up. Glad to see my favorite folks still working hard. Don't know how you do it. :)

  • @elainekirk I read that about TEPCO's stock price and LOL'd - where am I going and why am I in this handbasket?
    by lillymunster 11/2/2011 2:52:08 AM

  • @all Interesting bit from the Atomic Power Review (pro-industry blog): -A look at the indication by TEPCO to NHK and a quick perusal of graphical data to the present shows no rise in PCV pressure or any of the measured temperatures at the plant. However, as I've noted many times, the state of derangement of the lower pressure vessel head... and the amount of fuel material exit from the pressure vessel... cannot be guaranteed or even accurately estimated. Thus, lower vessel head temperature may not be indicative of the temperature of the entire (demolished) core mass.
    by smoss 11/2/2011 2:52:30 AM

  • @all.. KYODO NEWS flash being postes... nuclear fission will not affect making coldshutdown
    by dean 11/2/2011 2:54:10 AM

  • @all But then this statement: -NHK indicates a statement from NISA that there is little or no chance that temperature has risen enough to cause further melting ... which seems obvious at this point. (For those not familiar, it would be difficult for the mass to achieve sustained criticality at this point; what we might be looking at is very limited increase in fissions per unit time, leading to generation of these Xenon gases which are fission products.) Atomic Power Review seems to be contradicting itself with reguard to the value and validity of temp reading in #2

  • Are the CAMS rad monitors working? There are readings in that TEPCO doc - unit 2's readings are slightly higher in the DW and SC than the other two
    by lillymunster 11/2/2011 2:59:56 AM

  • that reads like a tepco 'get out of jail free' cover all angles and scream 'we very sorry' then bow low to hide their smirks
    by elainekirk 11/2/2011 3:00:45 AM

  • People were looking for temps at the common pool a while back. That TEPCO doc has that reading tucked into that last row of data.
    by lillymunster 11/2/2011 3:02:11 AM

  • Nite all. Take care.
    by Shadow 11/2/2011 3:03:04 AM

  • I dont trust tepco, somehow I don't think I am unique in that
    by elainekirk 11/2/2011 3:03:08 AM

  • @Shadow nite shadow
    by elainekirk 11/2/2011 3:03:22 AM

  • @elainekirk Definately seeing that caveat with TEPCO parameters...I think I was just enjoying how APR in one breath could discount any and all readings, and then in the next breath utilize the low temp readings to prove no criticality :-)
    by smoss 11/2/2011 3:03:43 AM

  • not to worry @elaine another parlimentary member will probably go out and breath the air to show no criticality..
