  • post from Fuku worker Happy. Seems to be referring to the knock out panels on the reactor buildings.

I talk a little off in the pond ゙ Mr. Aso Roautoha panel, but if I talk to shine a little more detail ... know. If you open a hydrogen explosion panels off Roautoha ゙ pond as I say and I certainly would not happen. Panels except No. 2 hard but I'm not open.
One more: It has previously been a problem I had to chuck in panel c is open when there is an earthquake in Kashiwazaki. TEPCO'm So open your teeth chatter and welded to a horizontal panel in the deployment of all Units. I chatter from Unit 2 was still open.
Two more: What is this I'm not a violation of security regulation or I might misunderstand the oiler. Please tell me if you know if people. Injection could be better off thanks to the explosion at the building .... I think it was great from a worker exposed to more explosions 考Etara If you are not now.

  • @lillymunster, though the lone assembly seems odd, as of there's missing support structure enenews.com . Right maybe Dean or Peter has some insight. If the missing ones exploded or burned off (as is likely to be proposed), the nearby ones don't show any signs of such an immediate catastrophe, so it seems plausible that fuel assemblies could stand alone outside of any fuel rack.
    by Ian 1/1/2012 2:14:42 AM

  • @Ian I see nothing that shows something that could have been around it. No damage to the other racks or the lone assembly except the bent handle. I have to wonder if this was done because the assembly was bad? The pool racks IIRC have a base grid, the boron boxes the assembly goes in and the top bracket. I do not know if they normally come as a unit or are built in a modular fashion. I remember seeing things that looked like those assembly boxes in the early rubble but I think all were later identified as other things?
    by lillymunster 1/1/2012 2:24:05 AM

  • @lillymunster, I don't recall questions about fuel racks in rubble other than faint signs of the perimeter flat edge or lip of a rack around the lone assembly in the SFP3 video. www.youtube.com In citing the video it's not necessarily obvious, it's hard to see, an of course much larger then the assembly.

  • Radioactive tellurium, silver detected near Fukushima plant. November 01.2011. High concentrations of radioactive tellurium and silver have been found in soil around the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, according to the science ministry's contamination maps released on Oct. 31. ...
Tellurium-129m, with a half-life of about 34 days, is generated by nuclear fission of uranium fuel. When accumulated in human bones, tellurium-129m is excreted from the body in a shorter time than iodine-131, a major component of radioactive fallout along with cesium-134 and cesium-137. ... A peak tellurium-129m concentration of about 2,660,000 becquerels per square meter was detected about 2.5 km from the nuclear plant in the town of Okuma.
... A peak silver-110m concentration of about 83,000 becquerels per square meter was found ... ajw.asahi.com

  • Japan's population decline accelerated in 2011. Jan 01.2011

2011 saw the fewest number of newborns since the end of World War Two in Japan. The decline in the country's population is accelerating.

The health ministry estimates that one million 57 thousand babies were born in 2011. That's a drop of about 14,000 from the previous year. The number of deaths in 2011 was estimated at one million 261 thousand. That's up around 64,000 due to the aging population and the March disaster. www3.nhk.or.jp

Keep an eye out for news on this tomorrow. Sounds like reprocessing was going to cost tons more than storage and someone hid this.

"Mainichi is "hiding biennial direct disposal costs," reported. Direct disposal in 1998 can be estimated one-fourth of reprocessing. But hiding. I was in the House of Councillors Budget Committee in March 2004, "The cost of reprocessing is not some" ask. Secretary of Energy agency was "not calculated the cost," and false answer'
