  • @dean there are some voice based translators but the ones I have seen are for mobile phones like iphone or android.

We have had good luck translating videos via Youtube as long as they have the closed caption ability then we can also do a translation by youtube's tools. This version does not have closed caption.

I will do some looking to see if anyone has made any of the audio based translators for regular computers yet
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 1:42:31 AM

  • This is the kind of thing for mobile phones and tablets speechtrans.com
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 1:45:19 AM

  • @mary and lilly.. I will check also
    by dean 1/2/2012 1:45:33 AM

  • Oh I might be able to make this work on a computer googlesystem.blogspot.com
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 1:48:10 AM

  • by dean 1/2/2012 1:48:51 AM

  • @dean, any thoughts on this lone fuel assembly? enenews.com Is that normal? Lily and I presume so. More images of it : enformable.com
    by Ian 1/2/2012 1:49:02 AM

  • Googles web based translation doesn't have voice to text for hindi yet.
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 1:50:27 AM

  • @lillymunster, there is a text-to-voice option on google translator, if that applies.
    by Ian 1/2/2012 1:50:36 AM

  • @lillymunster, I'm using text-to-voice for hindi translate.google.com|hi|text%20to%20voice%0A%0A
    by Ian 1/2/2012 1:52:27 AM

  • yeah.. this is the image that I was telling Lilly about.... clearly damaged fuel and possibly part of the sfp holder with other elements severely damaged..
    by dean 1/2/2012 1:53:19 AM

  • @dean, that's your interpretation of the photos I just linked?
    by Ian 1/2/2012 1:54:10 AM

  • notice the 5 rods hanging out all alone at the top of that image... to me this indicated severely damaged fuel storage area around the plate laying and debris on top of the other elements
    by dean 1/2/2012 1:54:41 AM

  • @dean, so the fuel was damaged before Fuku and then stored there? That seems plausible, and if it was damaged in the pool, surely the neighboring contents would be severely damaged in some way too.
    by Ian 1/2/2012 1:56:46 AM

  • this is the way spent fuel pool should look like img.ibtimes.com

    by MaryW via Img.ibtimes 1/2/2012 1:59:21 AM

  • @Ian We need to do hindi voice to text. If you select hindi you lose the microphone like they don't have it ready for that language yet?
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:01:01 AM

  • @dean So you think that lone assembly wasn't like that on purpose?
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:05:05 AM

  • @Lilly, at this point I am assuming the explosion resulted in the damage seen in the images which looks as though the center storage rack has been damaged to the point of the other fuel elements being displaced.. those rods out there are not normal,, in addition notice the hook like piece just north of the plate laying down.. that's not the top of a fuel element and perhaps some structural part
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:09:45 AM

  • the lone fuel element is a mystery but is being supported at the bottom by something, perhaps whats left of the storage rack
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:10:35 AM

  • are the odd rods the ones in the top of this image? enformable.com

by lillymunster via Enformable 1/2/2012 2:12:32 AM

  • yes
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:12:43 AM

  • I would expect the sfp's to be full of storage grids as has been the case in previous images.. but in this case there is clearly nothing between those two
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:14:06 AM

  • @lillymunster, where are you selecting the text? I get it to read hindi.
    by Ian 1/2/2012 2:14:22 AM

  • w/o selecting any text. It reads the translated text as soon you you click the sound symbol.
    by Ian 1/2/2012 2:16:17 AM

  • @Ian we need something that can transcribe or translate hindi audio from this video translate.google.com
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:17:34 AM

  • www.tepco.co.jp @ lilly.. see if you get this with list of videos
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:26:26 AM

  • @dean yes the page shows up with the list of videos.
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:31:46 AM

  • I am @lilly.. I went down the list and ran into some that show video of #4 main floor and sfp.. my computer is slow here at my sons home but will want to look at these
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:37:44 AM

  • @dean we duplicated all the videos from that archive on youtube. They load a bit quicker to watch there when you get around to finding time. www.youtube.com
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:39:01 AM

  • @dean are there specifics your looking for on 4? I can go through photos also and see if we have anything relevant.
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:39:32 AM

  • for instance.. May 7 and 15
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:39:46 AM

  • ok lilly..We return to home tomorrow after having a week with the grandbabies and will have better computer speed
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:40:33 AM

  • @dean ah. let me know if you need stills of anything when you look at them.
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 2:40:57 AM

  • will do lilly... I am going to rest up for the travel in the morning.. It's sure nice seeing you all...
    by dean 1/2/2012 2:41:57 AM

  • A Japanese newspaper report covers payments to the nuclear industry to government inspectors.
Several members of the nuclear had received money for years, they say.
Accordingly to the payers include reactor manufacturers, power companies and nuclear power plant operators.Nearly a third of the members of the Japanese Nuclear have a newspaper report that over the years received donations from the local nuclear power industry.

As the renowned newspaper "Asahi Shimbun" reported, two were from the five permanent members of the Commission on Nuclear Safety as well as 22 of the 84 external auditors in the five years up to the reactor catastrophe of Fukushima last March, funds amounting to a total of 85 million yen (approximately 851 000 euros). This could cast doubt on their neutrality, criticized the paper.

Eleven of the representatives were therefore grants from reactor manufacturers, power companies and nuclear power plant operators who are directly under their control represents. Mitsubishi Heavy industry alone paid according to the newspaper the current Chairman of the Commission, Haruki Madarame between 2006 and 2009, four million yen.

Maradame time was a professor at the University of Tokyo, a new position as Chairman of the Security Commission, he joined in April. He assured that the company had experienced since taking office, no preferential treatment.

  • @lillymunster, oh, audio translation of Hindi, no idea.
There's clearly an event captured there www.youtube.com that's not otherwise in the public record, if that's Fuku Daiichi. I can't recognize the angle of view. I see what looks like a stack, but the buildings are at least not the angle of view we're familiar with.
    by Ian 1/2/2012 3:17:02 AM

  • @Ian the hopping around in the video makes it even harder to sort out. Going to see what I can do with video stills tomorrow.
    by lillymunster 1/2/2012 3:18:01 AM

  • @Ian I believe India would have had no reason to lie when the news broke on March 15. And I have found, the first news reports from March 11- about a 20-day period (and even after that date) are as true as we are ever going to hear. So that is why a lot of people are reviewing these early reports before the media blackout. Blackout started when the truth was too much and the shock of the event wore off.
    by MaryW 1/2/2012 3:22:34 AM

  • @MaryW, agreed. Also, the swath of fallout deposition across Japan is attributed to a rain that fell on the 15th, but maybe it was also due to an extra event on the 15th.

  • Leakage from spent fuel pool of reactor 4. Nov 9.2011. Tepco announced that water purifying system leaked liquid at spent fuel pool of reactor 4. http://fukushima-diary.com/2011/11/leakage-from-spent-fuel-pool-of-reactor-4/#.TrqeVw57o2I.facebook I remember these reports now.

    by MaryW 1/2/2012 3:39:51 AM

  • Leakage from spent fuel pool of reactor 4 fukushima-diary.com This link has more videos And pictures of reactor 4 leaking back then.
    by MaryW 1/2/2012 3:42:11 AM

  • @Ian I amazes me that video showing the explosion of reactor 4 on 3/15 was not removed with all the other stuff they deleted. Hope more like this will surface. I'm sure someone has everything .is stored somewhere before the media and internet blackout
    by MaryW 1/2/2012 3:44:31 AM

  • @lillymunster, an the smoke in that Indian-news video looks different than the smoke on the Unit 4 fire/explosion video. It looks like it's ejected from a narrow point.
