I am thinking that the plutonium would be too heavy to travel far, no? And so the biggest danger would be from radioactive debris leaking into the ocean?

@James Ward. The Russians detected Strontium 90 in Moscow in March and they claim it is from Fukushima. "Only trace amounts" near Fukushima, but it could be found on the other side of the globe.

@ukval....rense is not generally considered credible. If we can sole-source things from him, then we have to engage the weather modification folks who think Fukushima is some kind of black op!

I have no problem with the theory....don't get me wrong...I find it ludicrous that japan would be absolutely the only nation to ever undertake a 100% peaceful nuclear program (mebbe this explains why germany took so many of theirs offline so quick?).....all I was saying is that if we accept Rense as a credible source, we are going to have to weigh the opinions of all of the people who don't turn off their phones on planes to prove that those cellphone calls on 9/11 couldn't have been genuine. I'm not saying its flat earth society stuff, I'm just saying

Can someone please overlay a map of the south-east highway frpm Fukushima with the radiation map found here : docs.google.com ? It looks as if the radiation pattern is following the highway as @es observed earlier. Thanks.

@dean, I am having a difficult time making sense of the article www.marketoracle.co.uk , it seems to go in a lot of directions. Is it basically saying Fukushima 1 is part of a secret weapons program? If so, it doesn't seem to really lay out any concrete evidence. What do you think?

Japan, being the only country ever struck by a nuclear weapon, would be the least likely to want to develop one in my opinion....

@Reed : i pointed out before that the vehicles on the highway stir up the radioactive dust and that this is a big danger for the people living along the road. they should either close the road or evacuate.

A covert research program does seem plausible... however the article seemed to exaggerate some of the events in the timeline of this nuclear accident -- which it did not really need to do in order to lay out the suggestions it was trying to make. Therefore the most I can make of it is "watch this space" for further evidence for or against the hypothesized program.

@borrden...Japan is not inherently opposed to a nuclear weapon...the nationalism there rivals only israel's....and the story is plausible, and there are probably some ramifications in here somewhere...though all the sources are on some level somewhat in-credible thus far. We need to see where the fire is among the smoke and see if we can put together anything with teeth
