Interesting.. sorry if this has already been discussed, but I looked closer at satellite photos at the location of the Nevada EQs from yesterday, and noticed volcanic craters & old lava flows nearby. It looks like the quakes have been happening on the Aurora-Bodie volcanic field vulcan.wr.usgs.gov

@Bobby1 I don't agree that he is the acknowledged scientist on radiation health issues. However there are numerous cases of scientists and engineers being "put opposed to" smooth talkers and the science being lost. I AM saying Busby as very little credibility in the scientific community. It is very easy to make a bullshit statement in an interview and "science" has no immediate response. Science takes time, calculation and measurement. Bullshit claims do not. Look at Busby history, and then make your informed decision.

@Bobby1 I noticed on those NOAA maps that the day we are getting an intense front and rain we get a concentration near us following a geographic plateau. We also get squeezed next week between two air masses and get another concentration. We have zero monitoring in SD except for 2 geiger counters in the west end of the state.

@TEDBA I found a photo of the dry cask facility yesterday. It is intact except for the entry overhang. I understand the loading convenience of being waterside but what a dumb place to put it in a tsunami area. first image on this page is it www.houseoffoust.com

@Nancy These areas generally move west to east. The east side will have a front with rain. The west side has air sinking down from the upper levels. Both are risky.

@Bobby1 between this and the norwegian group issuing warnings i am getting a tad anxious about soil levels. With supposed releases into June wondering about build up of cesium in the soil or on garden plants over the summer. I can put some coverings on and a reliable water supply for the garden but don't want to do that if not really warranted due to the expense and work. Would love to have some readings and honest predictions for our area.

@elainekirk I have seen zero mention of that building or the status of the casks. I agree there should at least be an inspection right now. Yet another plant feature that needs to be reviewed. Casks and fuel etc. should be in safer locations.

@Bobby1 I was going to start some form of collecting data so we could track buildups and ongoing readings. I have been busy with image work and have not gotten it done. If you want to move ahead on it I think it is needed. We put some resources into the FAQ as far as recording sites and agencies so we could find testing reports. So whatever might work. I think we do need some sort of spread sheet or database that grabs those values on a daily basis for various areas. A blog or wiki or something to then report new findings, updates etc as we see the results of new data would help others quickly understand.

Moving the casks is non-trivial, they weigh right around 100 tons each, loaded. (200,000 pounds)

@elainekirk It may have drained out via the broken overhead door but still. Not a word. Those casks are pretty tough. Would like even a minor report that things are ok in there.

@Bobby1 for ongoing "reports" a blog is best. For discussions a forum or scribble page. I scribble page is ongoing and faster more of a chat. A forum more like group email because you post it and it sits there until someone comes along and adds another post. Google spreadsheets work well to share database info.
