@James Ward I think your right. There are good quality images but TEPCO has decided to stop releasing them. Previous thawk and helicopter images were of good quality. The capability is there. One really good quality image of some of those new shots of building 4 could tell lots of info. The dishonesty going on right now with TEPCO seems to straddle the line between publicly managing a crisis and criminal levels of trying to defraud the public. What I want to know is if agencies like the NRC and IAEA are getting more data or the same half story released to the public. I know they have some of their own data. It just seems like there needs to be a 3rd party in the center of things keeping everyone honest.

NHK news regarding status of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station
yesterday and today.
The transfer lowered the water level in the tunnel by 8 centimeters, but it began rising
again, exceeding the previous level by 2.5 centimeters as of Saturday morning.
TEPCO says work to fix the leakage of highly radioactive water into the ocean earlier
this month may have caused water from the reactor to accumulate in the tunnel.
The company hopes to begin transferring contaminated water to a waste-processing
facility by the end of next week. It is now accelerating work to monitor and fix water

Nevada has had 14 quakes at the same spot within the last 60 minutes. Posted article earlier that experts were getting real concerned as to what is going on ?? World quake map continues to show massive amount of quakes around the entire Pacific plate, with Honshu, Japan seeming to be one of the focal points on the West end.

Accumulated Radiation Latest Worry For Towns
"The accumulated radiation level in Namie, 30 km from the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, stood at 17,010 microsieverts, according to a tally released by the science ministry Saturday.

The accumulated levels during the period starting March 23 through Friday stood at 9,850 microsieverts in Iitate and 495 microsieverts in Minamisoma, it said. The readings compare with the 1,000 microsieverts that residents of the country can expect to be exposed to during one year.

The amount of radioactive cesium stood at between 12.7 and 71.0 becquerels per liter of surface seawater near the plant Monday and Wednesday, and 10.1 becquerels at deeper levels Monday, the science ministry added." search.japantimes.co.jp

Tokyo----Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) announced that TEPCO has begun the process of shutting down the No. 5 reactor at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power station (rated output: 784MW) at 6:00pm on October 12.
The suspension of the reactor is due to the acceptance of the propose by Fukushima Prefecture to replace the eroded water pipe. This replacement will be planned for about a week.

@Nancy, Nevada and Cali are the East end of the Pacific plate. These new quakes are all on an unknown quake fault line, and the experts are concerned that things are breaking loose that have never had quakes before on that end. Of course, all this is then piling up on the West end in Japan, Honshu has been like a magnet these last few weeks. But even had a good size quake yesterday evening in Australia. From what I have seen and heard, the experts are getting really concerned that this is not normal activity on this plate, and adjoining plates on the East side, which are now showing movement West also.

@wtm I was reading a 2010 TEPCO brochure. They have their hands in everything in Japan. Subsidiaries in everything and deep ties in just about every industry that likely involve money ties too. TEPCO going down could end up on the scale of the banking industry here tanking

@Dean. I am noticing lots of failed parts, eroded water lines in past press releases at the plant. Along with all the rust I am finding was in roof structures. I have to wonder if that level of corrosion is normal?

@Nancy, If TEPCO has their hands deep onto GoJ, then they will let GoJ take the blame for all the incompetence and have to put out any payments. Then when it is all over they will get the GoJ to privatize it again, and the bigwigs will slip back into running it, all free and clear.
