@Bobby 1 Have you seen the Berkeley video-Fact vs Fiction? It talks about volitization of the different radionuclide, it goes to what we are working on, at 13mins-20mins this guy Thomas McKone talks about it, his theory is right about the tempretures vs volotization of certain things.....his read of the situation is wrong in my opinion...namely we have seen temps that would volatize the Sr and Ba families of Radionuclide, this would be backed up by the finds already seen in Japanese soil samples.

@Bev Corn-fed beef should be good for a while. But we need a farmer in here.

@Bobby My family has a cattle ranch, beeves here are grass and milk fed until about 6 mos of age and are then auctioned to fatteners in other parts of the country. The parent cattle are retained for the next crop.

@Bobby 1, ok for something to be released in airborne form (short of an explosion blowing particles into the air) it needs to boil first or become "volotized"..... it has to do with temps in reactor, for a simple and not quite 100% correct rundown..... cesium families boil around the 400 degrees celsius mark, Iodine families are gaseous at room tempretures and the Ba Sr families boil above 2500 degrees celsius....the point is and this why we see more of the I and Cs family being released is that they are liberated much more freely and become airborne through venting....the Sr &Ba families don't but thomas McKone says that temps aren't there to be able to volotize the Sr family....WRONG as per soil samples!

@RadioGuy I remember those children getting leukemia in the 50s and 60s by drinking milk. I had to drink milk too, I always hated it.

@Bobby 1 yes but possibly not to the level required to freely move the stuff we are talking of, or there abouts, but it goes to making things even more complex on the situation, because when something in the reactor is really hot and then something else breaks and falls on it, ie debris, it can then begin to burn in turn heating the rods or dmaged rods more to the point even more and the act of burning again moves things differently as does the reaction possibly causing different types of compounds.....to say it simply, it's very complex.....and the further you look into the situation at Fukushima the more angles you will discover which makes figuring it out all the more harder! Another point too, as per my understanding of things, the Sr family wouldn't need to be volotized to be released through the leaking water, the act of just pouring water over the damaged rods and letting it run out of there would carry enormous amounts of Sr family with it....which is why I think the ocean would be the largest source! I have to go soon but if you have anyother questions fire away....but I will be indulging in some cancerous material for a minute so don't mind the lag!

@Bobby 1 I am predominately working on reactors only...from work on that I should have an easier time with the sfp's...out of interest why do think water evap will lead to airborne Sr? It's something I haven't really thought of....I'd be more worried about a storm whipping up things and throwing them into the air from the ocean! And yes the Sr-89 is there in big amounts....I am still sidetracked and trying to get back to it but that may be because it volotizes easier or that there is more produced....I would be thinking the volotization is lower????Still working......and mainly getting sidetracked! Also quick update on condition of @Thunders brain....nearing complete meltdown! Goind gardening and Be back later! See ya @All
