The ground robot cameras will likely be roughly the same quality as we're getting from T Hawk, though again I expect they are actually sourcing in high quality H264 vs. the 1.6 Mbps MPEG2 in the clips as-released.

Pretty much everything is done now with low latency high quality H264, but releasing as an MPG allows anyone to view them. Even the tiny MIL headset run with H264 CODECs.

The high quality video version on youtube shows as 1 Mbps H264, as expected -- to get equivalent in an MPG they would have had to run about 3x - 4x the file sizes that they posted at the TEPCO site.

@Markfm Thanks Mark, this is good to know where things are going wonky with these videos. I hope whomever it is at TEPCO that is releasing the better versions to the web outside the TEPCO site keeps doing it.

I was looking through the numbers of reactor nr. 2 and the B-reading of S/C is again higher with 114Sv/h. Any ideas what there is happening? Or was it already discussed, then I'm sorry for bringing it up again.

hudebnik - at the moment it seems like things are stable.. however, further earthquakes, settling of debris, a possible explosion form #2 or other factors from the clean up process could change the configuration and then more things could happen and more releases (worst case to me would be an explosion).. and, ,don't forget the tropical storms which could come in the stir surface contamination up and get it airborne ,,, we just need to stay tuned..

Interesting comments by Arnie Gundersen stating basically, 1) iodine is a gas and he didn't know how it could have fallen in such quantities into the #4 SFP, and 2) Reactor Building #4 was still covered by the roof when Reactors 1, 2, and 3 were exploding and releasing the iodine gas into the air. So, how did the iodine gas get into SFP #4 in such quantities? Arnie seems to be implying that there is fission taking place in SFP #4.

@Jim Carver Yep...water is still being pumped in at a massive rate, and it's going someplace besides into the air through evaporation and steam. The bathtub is a sieve.

@hudebnik A couple of points Gunderson made related to 4 answers a few questions. Like he mentioned 4 was totally intact when #3 blew up. So the fuel materials in 3 can't be inside 4 on the work deck. Whatever is giving off signatures on 4's work deck has to be from within #4. One of the two hot spots has been pin pointed as the reactor well likely giving off residual readings. The other spot is what then? It seems to be the flat spot just inward from the yellow reactor cap. I will be trying some image zoom etc. on the better quality drone video. But the hot spots now being from the SFP along with the 2 incidents at 4, the explosion that blew out walls and whatever took the roof asphalt off really have me wondering. Anyone have any idea on this one??
