I would like it if they use different terminology for the #4 SFP as it concerns.. fission... In my training for canal accidents we talk about fuel element melt,, then "if" a critical mass or array is formed.. a criticality accident possible,,, before the event the critical mass would be small enough.. or have enough poison around it to keep it SUB CRITICAL.. then conditions change and the optimum conditions (thermal neutrons etc).. a CRITICALITY can occur. that criticality can be when the mass goes supercritical and.. unless there is a control rod affect in the canal what would allow just enough fissions to be a sustained criticality (which I dought judging from the state of the burn or melt).. the fission would go on for a some time.... with no contro or absorber capability there could be A PROMPT critical event which would release a huge amount of energy and could resuilt in debris being blown out of the pool
