by Jim Carver 4/20/2011 12:46:23 AM

  • @edano will you look at this for me (I am not very good at spotting techi stuff) to see if there is anything there that would have called tepco's abilities into doubt docs.google.com(seismic+back+check)+implementation+planfrom+electric+power+companies+etc.&hl=en&gl=uk&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEEShuDyTdzxwyj9Xi6oBtFFE06V_Uq4r8msRYClRRlmeMoz6Qt9cQZaz3MZyyLGiKuXSsC8rynX4-1R2f7NA0W7uad4fTMeFQ4ORhlzHpn82KoS9IFQnjaZwjLjvSikig-exTucDt&sig=AHIEtbQBtiMufVc_uzOAReUlQOxCQP8jkg

  • @Nancy K, i'll have a look. Prob find better way than email. Let me go see...
by Jim Carver 4/20/2011 12:51:47 AM

  • @Nancy that piece of equipment looks like it slides oner the reactor well, containment lid already off... then slides down and forms a seal (possibly) to allow pulling the reator cap and steam/dryer section... two differnt times (probably)... I say this totaly based on nothign other than ... the outside looks like spider legs that stradule the containment... it has hand rails up top so,,, the only purpose would be to have presonnel up there... it seems to have a much smaller diameter core.... the lower half..(would possibly fit in side containment area).. it apprers to have a lot of equipment and "flexible" hose/piping..." its deffently severs a mechanical purpose and the core shroud procedure calls out the the "steam/dryer" is (US) stored a spent pool during refueling, the core has a very extensive decontaimination procedure....the welding is done by atomic weldeing machines... the personnel have enter the core to set the machine, but its operated by remote.. this piece looks like it may be involed in some of these things... it is very complex looking, can't see much detail when i enlarge my screen i lose the detail.... thats my best guess, but i will keep looking and reading
    by fitter 4/20/2011 12:53:27 AM

  • @nancy @edano what do you think? I think we may find jnes never got the report from daichi and certainly it says there they were given to spring '08 just for the report any work that needed doing as a result of the new system in all probability hadnt been done by the time they were hit with what they should have been preparing for
    by elainekirk 4/20/2011 12:53:48 AM

  • @veenoui what do you think will there be anything we can use in that foi
    by elainekirk 4/20/2011 12:54:45 AM

  • @elainekirk did we find a work request on one of the reactors????
    by fitter 4/20/2011 12:55:10 AM

  • @Elaine @Nancy That is so funny, I was looking at that a little while ago! and thought I would snap that site. or at least parts. eerie~~~
by Jim Carver 4/20/2011 12:55:41 AM

  • @fitter that is the stuff of dreams but sometimes dreams come true we will just have to keep diging
    by elainekirk 4/20/2011 12:56:59 AM

  • @Nancy was it you that was asking about how to or where to send a FOIA... found the NRC site and request format... most all the news companies have them in for all info, e-mails ect relating to Japan
    by fitter 4/20/2011 12:57:13 AM

  • @jim I thought if we got it all then searched for the report (if there ever was one)

  • @alblee it wont work :( is it the daichi report?

[The text reradable 24 gif thingy that you and Edano had earlier downloaded (I think), or do you already have this non-gif version? I'll try uploading from my local drive... - Alblee]

  • @elainekirk That's the trouble nowadays, the 'data' is out there, but just distilling it down to something usable is a real challenge.
by Jim Carver 4/20/2011 1:08:42 AM

  • adamswebsearch2.nrc.gov

Non-GIF Report on the revision of the seismic safety assessment (seismic back check) implementation plan from electric power companies etc.
