@ifz Good god. All the more reason we need to document as much as possible while it is happening. It sounds like they also passed that clamp down on individuals saying things the govt. doesn't want out on the net.

Re - news black out Fukushima has fouled our air and polluted the seas we are entitled to full disclosure and if our governments collude with the Japanese and fail to provide us with information with which we can make informed decisions , then it is for the people to demand their governments disclose the information. I have submitted an F.O.I request to our government asking for the figures for air/rain/drinking water ...time will tell

Unit 4 core parameters are exempt from measurement due to it being empty, so a ref to unit 4 nozzle temp must be an error.

They (Japan govt, TEPCO, NISA etc) will never learn, maybe for cultural reasons, that the only way to allay fears is to be open and honest with information, however bad it seems to be. 0/10 on that score, then.

@Edano I would hope they don't have the jurisdiction to shut down a canada-based website. I would also hope that no western nation or company would stand for that...

@Edano IIRC scribble is a US company. They make back ups of everything for all sorts of potential problems. At worst if someone did something we would lose a day's posts. The GoJ would have very little ability to make the people who own/run Scribble do anything. Lack of jurisdiction and I really doubt the US govt. is going to bother since nothing posted here is that out of bounds. When I worked full time for internet/advertising about the only sort of request or nastygram that made anyone take notice was FBI warrants. That and nothing is every really gone off the internet. Cached copies and things like archive.org keep copies of lots of data most people would consider not important.

@hudebnik at least in the US, hiding information that ends up directly causing lots of people harm can lead to huge lawsuits, ask the tobacco companies how well that worked out for them. I am imagining BP will be on the receiving end of some big lawsuits in 10-20 years as the real impact come out from the gulf oil spill.
