@fitter our reactors scramed saturday nite... loss of external power, they are on generator...(in shutdown-cold i hope) but it took a day to two days for it to really show up in the news.. knowone really cares, But it acorred to me that even though we have a monthly test ,... i never asked what parameters set off the alarm... e-mailed them, got a response in less that two hours.. sent me to a bunch of web sites with a bunch of muble jumble that basicly said... turn your radio on.. and listen for instructions... BUT>> the more i read at the web sites, the more i distrust the company and the gov't... i have read contracts for years... all those scarry words are in the NRC regs... and we have what i consider very inadaquate monitoring, they have 30 days to fix... the stuff really makes you think, and i foud out as the crow flies i live closer 5 miles to the reactors, that 3 mile diffc isnt much, but it was three miles... I don't think i can read any more on our plant...they were just recertified for 20 more years... that will be 60 years

@fitter I post most of what I post here on ar15 so thats a pretty good record if I need to go back. Some stuff I get elsewhere or it lands on my hard drive.. I don't save everything though

Daily reactor data (from METI) are surprising; my reactor of the day: #3 !
#3: RPV pressure and temperatures are dropping; might reach cold shutdown state (ie temperature below 100 °C, atmospheric pressure) tomorrow or the next day. Unfortunately, the drywell is far from cold shutdown: atmospheric pressure, high temperature: likely to be breached, nuclear fission free running there.

#1 has good news too: 1 degree to the (low) water boiling temperature !
Another good new: the drywell temperature seem directly correlated to the RPV bottom temperature, seems always ~ 4°C above for the last 3 days; it seems them cooling down at the same speed as the RPV, which can mean there is now heat source in the drywell itself, then no active fuel there. The 4°C offset could then be explained by the drywell water thermal inertia.

@elainekirk Huh. Someone asked me to look at images on 3 again thinking part of the containment was ejected. It ended up being an existing tank but I bet that was what he was looking for.

@elainekirk yes. The bits and pieces I get here and the few old documents I read just are beyond words when you put them together.

@Tenzing The object on roof 4 is flat, nothing looks like 2 layer as in smashed flat. It could be something round opened up flat. But the one thing that totally throws it for a loop is that 3 blew up first. We found an overhead shot of 4 after 3 blew up and before 4 exploded. 4 was pristine, no wall damage no big chunks of debris on the roof. So 4 is really an enigma. The more we find out on 4 the stranger it gets. Someone mentioned last night that it could have had some sort of implosion or sucking in the explosion on 4.

@elainekirk So far I don't think anyone has been able to find any info on what they were doing on 4. We need to try to piece that together, any mentions of the type of inspection or repair work. It could be critical in piecing together the scenario on 4.
