We are also planning to conduct countermeasures to prevent the outflow of accumulated water from the pit.*The amount of high density contaminated water spilled from the screen at the side of turbine building, Unit 2 is estimated to be approximately520 m3 with 4.7*1015 becquerel, provided that the water flowed continuously at the same rate from April 1st to April 6th. In order to prevent water containing radioactive materials from spilling from a plant's port to the sea, we installed iron plates in front of the screen of Unit 2, and also installed silt fences in front of the screens of Unit 1 to 4. Moreover, we installed a total of 62 large sandbags on the south side of the ocean and threw in ten sandbags including zeolite infront of the screen rooms of Units 1 to 4.In addition, carrying out measures such as steel sheet pile and radioactive material absorber at around south breakwater are under consideration.*From 0:00am on April 21st, we sprayed dust inhibitor at the mountainside area of the common spent fuel pool/ approx. 1,300 m2 , and at the mountainside area of the medium voltage switchgear/ approx. 5,100 m2 in order to prevent diffusion of radioactive materials. The top photo shows a fishing port breakwater (in the center of the photo) submerged at 3:12 p.m., the middle photo shows it reemerging at 3:16 p.m. as the water level falls and the bottom photo shows it being overrun by a huge tsunami with an estimated speed of 115 kilometers per hour at 3:18 p.m. The museum said many people, who had escaped from their homes, were killed after returning home to fetch valuables when the initial tsunami wave subsided. @marie rich I saw the Arnie Gundersen interview with Dr. Wing, and I have to disagree with the doctor when he said you can't do anything about radiation. You can choose not to consume products which are likely to have higher amounts of contamination, you can consume foods or supplements that contain iodine, potassium and calcium to block absorption of radionuclides, you can consume algae or seaweed products to help you get rid of anything you might have ingested. The operator of the troubled Fukushima nuclear power plant says it has detected higher levels of radioactive material in sea water samples near the water intake of one of the reactors.
The Tokyo Electric Power Company says it detected 1,600 becquerels of radioactive iodine-131 per cubic centimeter in samples of sea water collected near the water intake for the Number 2 reactor on Wednesday morning. @nls In this image taken 3 mins after reactor 3 exploded you can see damage to the turbine building in front of reactor 4. 2 large pieces of the roof are broken and smoke is covering the piece of the wall that blew out of 4. www.digitalglobe.com

There is a tiny black mark on the turbine side of 4's top wall. No other damage to 4 itself. The big chunk of concrete from 3 is smoldering on the piping where it landed. 4 does not look "damaged" in any major way to me. www.houseoffoust.com
