
Jim, at the facility where I worked there were two systems... the main purification system was a cation and anion bed and then a filterable solids screen prior to returning to system... then for the waste system the pass the water through about the same kinda of system.. anion and cation... then off to either hot or cold waste

yes Jim... just different resin to capture radioactive isotopes.. when the resin is depleted tho.. handling of the waste must be in shielded containers..
