@RBean that one I am not totally sure about. I know MEXT has dust samples but I don't remember the locations they sample. The more we dive into all of the the more it becomes apparent we need working pages on the web site that list our go to sources in an easy to index way so people can reference back to readings or original photos etc. I think the best use of resources it to get that running asap after we get the web site going. Today is full. I may get to working on the site load tomorow evening. Once we get it loaded though things will be more downhill and getting content added etc.

@Ralph Unger Sunflowers are goopd, the average uptake of radioactivity for plants is 10%. Need crops that have multiple growth in season (pot anyone). Obviously the plants need to be collected and controlled disposal.

It depends on the nutrient content of the soil as well, if it has low content, the radioactives will be picked up faster as they tend to replace there non-radioactive counterparts.

@Markfm I agree with this article "drumbeat of Fallout". Japan needs to worry, as of right now, noone else in the world needs to worry about actual dose from fallout. If things go bad..bad.. that could change. But cuurent levels in Cali and Hawaii www.nuc.berkeley.edu are not a significant source of radiation.

I contacted Fairwinds and got a reply, which is why I though their latest video would be about the odd relationship of background radiation to the measured radioactive elements in the soil.
