@Bobby1 Here are some recent cartridge/filter results www.epa.gov that indicate no Te-129 and though their sampling is few and far between, www.epa.gov That's the best we have.

A robot has detected highly dangerous levels of radiation in the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant's No. 3 reactor building, it has been learned, indicating further safety measures will be needed before workers can enter the structure.

@Majjham zazen Those are just "nasty" working radiation levels. But they are doable with proper planning, routes, stay times and wll planned work procedures.

@Majjham zazen The GOJ should be LOUD about their goal to reduce the child radiation exposure limit back to 1 mSv/year. They should shout that these new limits are calculated and based on the emergency, with every intention of reducing them as clean-up and remediation proceeds. The press releases I saw did not state TEMPORARY, which is a huge misstatement on their part.

@Scilla What bothered me is the company rep. from Waterford told the press that their plant was very safe and there is nothing to worry about. Sound familiar? Not a word about HOW their plant is safe, what measures or features are in place to assure the plant won't flood or won't have a catastrophe if it does. They very well might have those safety measures in place but vague over confident statements just do not fly.

@LM That is what I have been wondering. We never hear anything about the SFP in 1 or 2. Do they have enough systems to those to keep them in their normal state? Do they know if either one is damaged?

@lillymunster It's been driving me crazy! There's so much damage to the top floors of 1 and you would think if they actually had successfully maintained a circulating cooling system on 1& 2 that they would be shouting it to the world. Hmmmm.

@lillymunster I have wondered if the steam is perhaps coming out the side facing away from the camera...like in 2 but somehow we just aren't seeing the extent of it.

@LM a couple of times I thought I caught a glimpse of steam from 1. IIRC in March wisps of steam was escaping from a small hole in the ruined roof of 1 on 1 of the vids, but nothing obvious since.

@LM I think #1 actually had steel wall panels on the top portion. Not 100% sure but heard it a few places and saw a piece of cloud painted sheet steel in a rubble picture. So maybe that helped let the blast go outward with less damage to things on the work floor. It sounds like #2's explosion was downward so may not have impacted things on the work floor.

@lillymunster Although, doesn't the whole building light up in 2 on the heat photos. That might be explained by contributions from the hot SFP and issues with containment.

@LM The last heat images are 4.26 and most of them show the entire roof with about a medium heat level on their charts.

It's definitely curious...especially given their belief that the suppression pool is leaking. Yikes. There's just so much we don't know. It 's probably a good bet that all 3 have a pile of corium at the bottom of the RPV.

@Marie rich It does make sense doesn't it. 2 months without proper cooling, aftershocks and corrosion from salt water. TMI melted 50% in 2 hrs.
