@bo , trade unions happened to exist in strength before the Nazis came to power and were the ones who counted the most in their ranks who had opposed the Nazis and fought against them. Even the most conservative party saw the need to put the nationalization of banks and key industries on its program after the war and is called the Christian Social Union to the day. They cut the idea of nationalization from their agenda very quickly, though.

@Edano During the civil war in the USA, Union Major General Joseph Hooker would take women, out on his campaigns. They became know as "hookers girls" hence the term hookers for prostitutes came about. My 10th grade history teacher taught us that :)

Hard to see but the steam looks more like smoke ? i would imagine steam being more reflective when lit up by artificial light

@WolfDK difficult to tell -I think the high wind disperses it quickly so it may not appear as white as on other occasions

Looking close at unit #4 it appears to me that a piece of structure at upper right corner on TBS/ JNN cam (must be south) is missing, iirc it was there yesterday.

@WolfDK south wall is the short end that is all gone where we can see into the SFP, on the right of the image. The wall furthest away facing the sea (the one you see the missing part) is seaside. Wall closest to us and more to the left is landside. We can't see any of the north wall

@WolfDK You can do an overlay but they frequently are worthless due to slightly different camera angles. If they seem to match up I can to see if there are differences.

It's really hard to see if there's a change in #4 at present as the steam periodically obscures the view of that side

@Nancy, shouldn't matter much if the angles are relative close, the zoom can be fixed by simple resizing, think it could reveal something - maybe i think too much ;)

@bo , just to round this up, quickly. Imagine the first Chancellor after WII, Konrad Adenauer, was a very conservative man. He was mayor of the city of Cologne when the Nazis came to power, opposed their ideas staunchly and ended up in a concentration camp. The first Social Democratic Chancellor after WII, Willi Brandt, fled the Nazis and ended up fighting German troupes in Norway as an insurgent. I do not know whether Japan saw a Prime Minister who had opposed the powers that led that nation to ruins. Very different past explaining a very different present. This disaster may be a wake up call.

regarding the angles keep in mind the distance between cam and target, if the target is located in aprox the same spot, the view angle of the target itself would be very close. Does that make any sense at all ?

@wtm, The engineers must be given credit, the fact that the units are still standing is nothing less than amazing. Lets just hope there is not another big one in the near future
