@UJVal, you have to have water in the unit to get steam, all the water levels are really down lower than what they were before.

@Edano The story cited by ex sfx mentioned it took 2 hours, they drove him part of the way to town by car and the lack of a doctor. They cited Japanese media sources. I hope there is a autopsy done and some sort of investigation.

The Nov 2010 powerpoint presentation talks about the 408 assemblies (of which 148 were from #4) having already been in the dry storage casks, and in the dry storage cask building, as of back in March 2010. It also asserts they were authorized for up to 20 casks total there.

@Edano They don't say that he was assisted by a doctor at the NPP though, so that information you have might still be right. They say: "He was carried to a doctor's room of the power station at 7:03
AM and had medical treatment. Since he had lost his consciousness and
stopped self breathing, at 7:35 AM he was carried to a doctor in the
J Village and the doctor examined his condition. After that, at 8:35 AM,
he was carried to Sogo Iwaki Kyoritsu Hospital." Two hours to get to a hospital is alarming.

@Pedro Jesus So an (1) older man keeled over at physical work... and died. Prehaps on feb 27 things would have been different. But, After the disaster occured, don't you think the response would be different. "Installation of additional dry casks" was part of the Nov. 2010 briefing, so perhaps going forward they were seeking approval to stash more of them elsewhere. It doesn't mean there were 148 dry casked assemblies in #4 as of the earthquake.

@RBeaner Sure, but it is also very real that the conditions under which those 4 to 5 hundred men working at the F-K NPP are very extreme and the hazard very high. I would imagine they would have a better plan to evacuate victims of accidents and have them promptly assisted. 2 hours to get a victim of a cardiac arrest to a hospital is unbelievable.

@Pedro Jesus it does appear that conditions for the workers in general at the plant are very poor

@RBeaner - Not at all accurate, as Edano pointed out if he indeed suffered from what he suffered then he didn't have to die. The lack of a medical Dr. shows the lack of planning nor the compassion for a human life, kinda like you just exibited.....

This is a disaster, and some people are going to give their life to help prevent the disaster.. Just like firefighters, if they all had remote function of long range disharge equip, then they wouldn't die either. I don't know that there was a lack of an M.D. , i do know that it was a long way to an able hospital./

@Nancy Do you realize that there are people in need of medical attention for 10's of miles around fukushima, even today. This was the highest concentration of elderly ever to be affected by a sig. natural disaster.
