  • If anyone knows how to get a blog post picked up in google's news feed please let me know.
    by Nancy 5/24/2011 9:36:58 PM

  • i misspoke. It's google's Real Time feed, and i'm searching (always) on word 'Fukushima'. I am not sure of the algorithm Google uses, but it streams sites/news/twitter links.
    by Panserbjorne9 5/24/2011 9:38:37 PM

  • @Nancy plenty key words in the text nancy must be typed in and part of a whole i.e. a paragraph about #3 would need to say fukushima reactor 3 - google wouldnt return #3 wharas it would return fukushima reactor 3 in results
Always think when describing something how you would enter it as a search in google that way you won't go far wrong

  • @Nancy: Google rankings are a bit mysterious. I don't know how I got so high in their hierarchy, but I suspect my hosting a Google Adwords box on my site has something to do with it. 8c) Having others link to you moves you up, I know that.
    by bojack54 5/24/2011 9:41:48 PM

  • @Panserbjorne9 I added that story as an "aside" to the group website so people can see how to add a quick news story link to the main page.
    by Nancy 5/24/2011 9:45:25 PM

  • they are very clever @bojack and work hard to have search results that are relevant . Your blog making the top means it is a good blog imho

  • Soil contamination from Fukushima crisis comparable to Chernobyl: study
    TOKYO —
Radiation released by the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has caused soil contamination matching the levels seen in the Chernobyl disaster in some areas, a researcher told the government’s nuclear policy-setting body Tuesday. ‘‘A massive soil decontamination project will be indispensable before residents in those areas can return,’’ said Tomio Kawata, a research fellow of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan, at the meeting of the Japan Atomic Energy Commission, which sets policies and strategies for the government’s nuclear power development.

  • Hamaoka is there anything official on their leak?
this tweet from lollopezz translated reads-
Why I stopped in one of the Hamaoka reactor? That is because the accident happened. Accident or what? It is water leakage. So that is the primary and will end badly leaking. Why how much water leakage is acceptable now? I can not distinguish between the risk to end up tearing the pipes meltdown cake
    by elainekirk 5/24/2011 11:00:58 PM

  • @all, don't expect the media to pick up much from Japan, it is being dominated by the 1500 dead now in Oklahoma from tornado's.
