  • @LM I'm guessing that Edano did not know that was the other plant!
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:22:17 PM

  • @edano Something's going on as rad readings are high around the other sites as well...
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:22:19 PM

  • Onagawa had a spill durring an aftershock @edano
it must be a nightmare workers at 4 plants being exposed to those levels constantly accumulated doses must be...@wrshpr
    by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:24:08 PM

  • @elainekirk I respect your opioin, but really do not understand why there should be so much conversation here because I make the statement in responce to a article that shows advancement!!!! Am I not intitled to the same respect!!!! an as far as Enado I knew here would not care for the fact, but sorry its the truth... what is the problem???????
no problem fitter I just think it should be considered that as yet they have not secured a viable long term cooling system for daini
by fitter edited by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:25:06 PM

  • I also heard about pipe leaks at Tsuraga in yesterday's news.
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:25:25 PM

  • @fitter Any advancement is good news...it's just that they've been telling us that Daini was never really a concern...that in and of itself raises flags for me.
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:27:37 PM

  • @LM its been in all the releases and all over the news...
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:29:03 PM

  • @fitter : the problem is, tepco advances success reports to the media without telling them before that there are problems. this is public relation and we should be able to read between the lines.
by Edano edited by Edano 6/4/2011 6:29:27 PM

  • Onagawa in line with the seismic guidance that was ammended in 2006 had 3 external power sources plus back ups and functional alternative cooling systems if tepco had been as concientous we may not now be lloking at the mess and risks at fuku 1&2
    that are materialising
    by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:29:29 PM

  • @fitter I guess it's my oversight...Their emphasis has been on Daiichi and I haven't been paying close enough attention to the Tepco Daini releases....my bad!
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:31:52 PM

  • @Edano I belive it is in Elenies post of tepco as an update, or may have seen it when I was looking at a different update, but you can't have a up-date and say the original is not there....
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:32:23 PM

  • greetings to all... I just returned from a vacation and am eager to get caught up on things
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:33:54 PM

    by dean 6/4/2011 6:34:34 PM

  • @LM correction some here and most elese were has been on FUKU... Just so you know my postion is not pro-nuke... but I belive in looking at all sides and making my own choices as I will if I need to educate myself on a subject to make an intellegent discission...
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:34:46 PM

  • @dean hello how are you
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:34:58 PM

  • hi fitter... doing well ty for asking.. hope the same for you ...
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:35:31 PM

  • Hi Dean!
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:35:33 PM

  • @ all.. are the buildings still standing?
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:35:40 PM

  • hi LM..
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:35:43 PM

  • @elainekirk If you are in or near wales (uk) I would worry more about what a Generation one reator is... form what i read this moring from one of your post thats the only place left in the world operating one!
Fitter I worry about all the uk reactors and live in Scotland
by fitter edited by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:36:31 PM

  • @fitter That's the way to go! It's always good to look at all sides...now I know I need to pay closer attention to the Daini releases as well!
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:36:51 PM

  • @dean depends on who you ask? but they have a new TEPCO cam
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:37:03 PM

  • @dean : hi dean i have a question: is "Bellows" a name for a valve or anything in a plant ?
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:38:36 PM

  • @LM you need to get out of the TEPCO can... they are not the only ones with these problems.... this board is just very slighted.... I would suggest you look at all nuclear reactors and sysetms
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:38:42 PM

  • @dean guess the unit?

    by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:39:09 PM

  • @Lm did not mean that last post as anything personal;
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:39:15 PM

  • @dean : it is from a japanese reading translation: "Bellows RPV (HVH- 12A)"
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:39:56 PM

  • @elainekirk i'm sure they have their own monitoring equipment, they won't go blindly. Woods Hole is the best. Cape Cod Mass, don't ya know. That's where I came from!LOL
woods hole site is down but I found a cache of their fuku doc that reed posted yesterday and posted it here and on organise a hr or so ago

    by Lethbridgean 6/4/2011 6:40:57 PM

  • @elainekirk did you see my post about generation one in Wales... that mignt be scarry??
yes fitter I replied in your post there are some pretty ancient reactors in the uk that being the granny of them
by fitter edited by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:41:03 PM

  • @fitter No stress! To be frankly honest I was ambivalent about nuclear energy before this disaster and It has really opened my eyes. We do need to look at every plant with a microscope now.
    by LM 6/4/2011 6:41:20 PM

  • @Lethbridgean : ty :) i suspected it had to be valve.
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:41:56 PM

  • @LM Have done Piping for 30 years was amazed to see what is involved... good and bad
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:42:11 PM

  • @Lethbridgean en.wikipedia.org !!!!!!!!!
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:43:12 PM

  • @Edano... bellows is a term for a unique penetration to allow for thermal expansion and contraction
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:44:30 PM

  • elaine... hmmmmm.... unit 2 seemed to be steaming away so I'd say it's that or 1
    nimber 1 dean :)
by dean edited by elainekirk 6/4/2011 6:44:59 PM

  • @Edano - If you search Bellows Valve HVH- 12A the first hit is a Tepco PDF on R1 ...... www.tepco.co.jp
    by Lethbridgean 6/4/2011 6:45:14 PM

  • @dean ty
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:45:36 PM

  • @Lethbridgean : that is my source. i would like to know what HVH means. High .... something
    by Edano 6/4/2011 6:46:29 PM

  • @dean do you remember the explosion link I sent you about a month ago. they had had two major explosions this year.... they had one last friday or a week ago friday, killed 2 and the third is pretty critical...
    by fitter 6/4/2011 6:48:49 PM

  • @ fitter.. the triangular thing , if it's in the video I don't think that's the biological shield..
    by dean 6/4/2011 6:48:54 PM
