    by dean 6/12/2011 11:22:28 PM

  • this is part of tepco's public admittance policy. we know that. first they state "traces" of strontium, and one week later they will admit that corium is outside since end of March. who bets ?
    by Edano 6/12/2011 11:22:30 PM

  • What is TEPCO's admittance policy on faulty instrument readings?
    by Tenzing 6/12/2011 11:24:37 PM

  • will be back, need to organize things for meetings tomorrow..
    by dean 6/12/2011 11:25:30 PM

  • @Tenzing : well they write it, but they hide it.
    by Edano 6/12/2011 11:25:51 PM

  • @Edano you've been adding it to your graphs when you find it on the Tepco releases, right? I think you mentioned it earlier.
    by Panserbjorne9 6/12/2011 11:27:27 PM

  • The German ARD Tagesschau again reporting GREAT "german"
    www.tagesschau.de
    by Veenie 6/12/2011 11:29:28 PM

  • @Panserbjorne9 : yes. "計器不良" means instrument failure. you find it in the data sheets. www.tepco.co.jp
    by Edano 6/12/2011 11:29:53 PM

  • EMSC back up.
    by Panserbjorne9 6/12/2011 11:30:28 PM

  • Oh, wait a minute, i am now just grasping this, Lucas is misinforming ??
    by Veenie 6/12/2011 11:37:23 PM

  • @Veenie : yes the prime time news spent several minutes on it. but they do it nearly every day.
    by Edano 6/12/2011 11:37:26 PM

  • @Edano Amazes me, RT and ARD seem to be on the ball and SPIEGEL with intelligent insights.....none of it happens here in US with exception of Huffington Post intermittantly
    by Veenie 6/12/2011 11:38:38 PM

  • @Veenie and HuffPo almost has to be shamed into covering it.
    by RadioGuy 6/12/2011 11:44:53 PM

  • @RadioGuy In the last week I have seen/heard one minute about Fukushima. It was about the water treatment system on NPR. Other than articles in WSJ and NYT there has been nothing in the states. But there has been plenty about weinergate and the murder trial in Florida....
    by lillymunster 6/12/2011 11:47:48 PM

  • yep, and Bloomberg. It's the financial community that is still watching this.
    by RadioGuy 6/12/2011 11:53:47 PM

  • @RadioGuy
That one actually get's me scratching my head Blmvrg.......I would think, covering this would cause loss of faith in JPN stock's thus leading to a junkbond buy advisory after the fact
    by Veenie 6/12/2011 11:55:16 PM

  • @RadioGuy agreed, I thought it was strange how I would only find news on the business/financial pages of the sites... Or Reuters Africa, or ABC Australia...
    by Panserbjorne9 6/12/2011 11:55:32 PM

  • @Panserbjorne9 To me, it seems as though TWITTER is the main source of News spreading in the US, none of the Cable Channels are worthit !!
    by Veenie 6/12/2011 11:56:54 PM

  • Reuters have some coverage of Tokoyo demonstrations in this video. From about 40sec into video onwards:
    by jt 6/12/2011 11:57:07 PM

  • by jt 6/12/2011 11:57:12 PM

  • They're all trying SOOO hard to get the Great American Consumer borrowing and spending again so the GAM can dig the financial sector out of the hole they dug that they can't take the chance that a world-threatening crisis might interfere. It's already their Plan D after all (or something like that.)
    by RadioGuy 6/12/2011 11:58:31 PM

  • @jt I am always impressed by such a monotone and purly script voice over report....yaawwn.
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:00:14 AM

  • I notice on the press release that tepco give the first status update at 9am and the last at 4pm what details do they give for the 17hrs between 4pm and 9am ? is it just readings?
    by elainekirk 6/13/2011 12:00:53 AM

  • I think we'll see more coverage starting now, though they made it to summer vacation, and that turned out to be safe harbor for BP. The problem is that it'll still be a festering sore when the summer is over too. I think it's got to start to sink in to the MSM that they are going to have to cover it sooner or later, because it's not going away..
    by RadioGuy 6/13/2011 12:01:11 AM

  • @Veenie I'm sure they hire them that way!
    by jt 6/13/2011 12:01:30 AM

  • @RadioGuy Oh no, you are soo wrong.the Summer season on TV is starting up......
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:02:03 AM

  • @jt I am missing LIVE reports.that's Journalism, voice overs is like Janitor level....
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:02:52 AM

  • Oh wow...right...so they'll be voraciously seeking nuclear news after a non-stop diet of off-season drivel?
    by RadioGuy 6/13/2011 12:03:16 AM

  • Yeah, I can do that voice. I think of it as my "I got nothing so let's sound authoritative" voice.
    by RadioGuy 6/13/2011 12:04:10 AM

  • @Veenie I'm not defending it. Just stating there exists footage more than a few hundred people in demonstrations in Tokoyo. Whether the average viewer can deduce that is of course questionable.
    by jt 6/13/2011 12:04:47 AM

  • @RadioGuy Biggest Looser, Celeb Rehab, The Voice, XXX Factor God knows ..anything but NEWS......I gotta tell you....if it ws me, i would national syndicate the 4 News Channels just to get people educated and intuitive.....none of the Programming is for smart people......
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:05:15 AM

  • Yesterday, three freakin' months into this, I got the "I thought that was over" line.
    by RadioGuy 6/13/2011 12:06:17 AM

  • @jt I know, i was not going after you, i am merly expressing the lack of Journalism, none in this Video was of substantial news.even the demo showed a few.they should have shown an areal shot......Japan all around in every aspect looks like a looser...they need MOVEMENT
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:07:11 AM

  • Gotta admit, it's an awesome display of power.
    by RadioGuy 6/13/2011 12:07:19 AM

  • Morning everyone!!
    by Angie 6/13/2011 12:10:06 AM

  • GoodBye everyone :-O
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:11:08 AM

  • @Veenie Yes, Japanese need movement and someone to photograph and report on it. But these are still early days. It will come.
    by jt 6/13/2011 12:11:37 AM

  • @veenie are you off to bed? @angie good morning
    by elainekirk 6/13/2011 12:11:40 AM

  • @jt Isn't there any public figure, that is polular ?.I heard of an actor, that got shunned due to his support........what does it take for the JPNse to put their support behind someone they trust?.....surley, they cannot trust their own GoJ.....i mean really...how much more ??
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:14:48 AM

  • @elainekirk lol he is going cause I am here lol its how he says "morning" lol
    by Angie 6/13/2011 12:14:51 AM

  • @angie roflmao why didnt I guess
    by elainekirk 6/13/2011 12:15:46 AM

  • Veeel, i lubs someone :-O
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 12:16:03 AM

  • @Veenie And someone lubs you!!!!
    by Angie 6/13/2011 12:17:18 AM

  • @Veenie I don't know enough about Japanese culture to have this answer. Many Japanese seemed to believe the GoJ (it was just harmful rumors) until the admissions made in that report to the IAEA.
    by jt 6/13/2011 12:19:48 AM

  • IAEA admission ?...that outfit is DONE...all credibility lost......Chernobyl and this....Enuff..Close them down !!
