  • @smoss I also found in the Greenpeace document that there were (possibly still are) no standards for MOX as in at what point it is officially out of tolerance and declared unsafe. They left it up to the manufacturer.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 3:31:38 AM

  • @LM I am guessing #1 and #3 have them the most worried. I still don't know why #1 is a bigger problem but they have been trying to tackle it first, are taking overhead readings and such that they were not doing all the time at the others.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 3:33:06 AM

  • @smoss who mandated the inspections. That might determine if they were done or not.

  • Greetings folks.
    by bo 6/13/2011 3:36:58 AM

  • @nancy It really is just mind-blowing ...In the article that I'm reading, it speaks of the IAEA actually relaxing inspection protocol for member states who willingly submit to INFCIRC/540 annual reporting. (IAEA in writing mandates inspections, but I'm beginning to wonder on the follow through...)

  • @bo Afternoon!

  • @bo Hello!
    by smoss 6/13/2011 3:38:38 AM

  • @nancy I believe the Safeguards for MOX pinned above also goes into inspection protocol.
    by smoss 6/13/2011 3:39:35 AM

  • Hi Bo!
@Smoss, We found lots of that as Elaine was mucking through TEPCO and GoJ documents. Many things were told to do but no way to mandate it. They would ask a company to do something and the company would just ignore it or delay.

  • IAEA publishes a document in 2003 outlining MOX manufacturing safety protocols. Fukushima (and many other MOX shipments) before 2003.

  • TEPCO announced that strontium-90 was also detected for the first time in ground water near the reactors' buildings.
My magic 8 ball says this is because there are fissures in the shale that the plant is built on and unit 1 is still putting out radionuclides due to chugging....

    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:02:10 AM

  • @lillymunster The tests are from may 13th. Tepco's article of faith is to delay admissions of emissions until it 'feels' like "oh, well- old news". But there's never an admission that it is STILL happening, eh? All thosee radiation graphs they put out all along with the dang asterisk *other nuclides awaiting analysis* BS. Remember hoe I kept going on about Xenon gas, Telluruim, Technium, etc,? Gunderson's newest vid refrences how much was emitted at the beginning. Lying Liars Lie Alot= TEPCO.

  • @@@@@@@@@@@@@@rghhhhh, here we go again.I am banning myuself :-O
    by Veenie 6/13/2011 4:03:41 AM

  • @marierich Surprised we still can't get across the board isotope results. Looking at Berkeley and EPA testing they seem capable of posting all isotopes early after taking samples. So TEPCO's delays sound like BS.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:05:45 AM

  • @lillymunster They could tell you right now all the radionuclides in that witches brew. You can bet on that with your life savings. *8 Ball says watch the water levels in the basements, esp. unit 5 and 6. Tepco claimed to have sealed up all the pipe holes and trenches, service tunnels, etc. If the water levels rise in 5 and 6, there are other, EQ-made conduits for radwater.
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:08:44 AM

  • @lillymunster Conversely, if they don't ever talk about moving the basement water from 5/67, you'll know the same thing.
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:10:08 AM

  • @marierich They had problems with water in 5 & 6 a few weeks ago. They were worried it would get high enough to damage cooling systems.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:10:28 AM

  • @lillymunster And now silence? Keep your eyes open, then, something may be afoot.
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:11:24 AM

  • @marierich They claim it is groundwater. I think they might have pumped water out at one point, would need to go check back to be sure. They also don't mention the radiation levels in that water at 5-6
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:11:38 AM

  • @lillymunster They, uh, forget to mention alot.
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:12:47 AM

  • LOL
    by Panserbjorne9 6/13/2011 4:13:26 AM

  • @marierich TEPCO is a group of really lousy liars if you watch closely. What they omit from a statement and what they cut out of a photo composition sometimes says more than what they actually put out.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:14:05 AM

  • @lillymunster I wish I was a reporter at their briefings just one time. I would ask the most 'inconvenient' questions bwa ha ha.
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:14:16 AM

  • @marierich LOL! TEPCO doesn't like unscripted questions.
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:15:26 AM

  • @lillymunster So very very true. They'd cash out quick in a poker game, they have so many "tells".
    by marierich 6/13/2011 4:15:29 AM

  • @marierich The parts of reactor 4 that have the most concerning damage never make it into close up photos taken by TEPCO
    by lillymunster 6/13/2011 4:16:38 AM

  • @all Believe this discussed Fukushima-I Reactor 4
