  • no updates other than that @lilly..
    by dean 7/2/2011 2:09:43 PM

  • I picked that info up from the link below "press releases" www.tepco.co.jp
    by dean 7/2/2011 2:11:25 PM

  • @dean It might be interesting to compile something on the events at Daini and do a short web article on it. The things going on there have flown under the radar.
    by lillymunster 7/2/2011 2:14:58 PM

  • true lilly.. that web link has a ton of information from which to digest..

  • then a note at the bottom for updates..
    by dean 7/2/2011 2:17:34 PM

  • Found it. I will talk to Elaine when she pops back in and see if she has saved any of the older reports on Daini. Or we can run a search and find them. There have been these little bits and pieces on Daini and all of it bad news just in isolated incidents. Putting them together would give the real picture of what has been happening over there. This is really interesting because TEPCO has been pushing that the old reactors were at risk due to old design and new ones are immune. That seems to not be the case.

  • BTW, I am putting together a spreadsheet of the research items discussed yesterday related to trying to get blueprints of old BWR units here and the GE upgrades.

  • www.tepco.co.jp good link
    by dean 7/2/2011 2:28:33 PM

  • @Deb we knew there were a few minor incidents at Daini. What Dean found that they quietly dumped online sounds like there was more going on.
    by lillymunster 7/2/2011 2:28:40 PM

  • @lillymunster Have been worried about that one. Always felt it was too close to the big quake to not sustain some damage.
    by Deb 7/2/2011 2:33:18 PM

  • I made a rough spreadsheet of the documents we wanted so we can compare design and GE upgrade suggestions of the US vs Japan plants made in the 60's. spreadsheets.google.com
    by lillymunster 7/2/2011 2:34:53 PM

  • @Deb it sounds like like again we are finding out after the fact...

  • @George Gibb wow. Where were those?
    by lillymunster 7/2/2011 4:05:38 PM

  • @elainekirk Those cooling vests are really cheezy. Is there a possibility the normal reusable ones would get contaminated and rendered unusable? That is the only thing I can think of why they would go this route with tshirts and ice pouches is to make them disposable... Anyone with experience using these have some idea?

    by LM 7/2/2011 4:30:17 PM

  • @LM i wonder if it could be coming from somewhere in the reactor?
    by lillymunster 7/2/2011 4:43:18 PM

  • @lillymunster , we had onsite laundry service. Contaminated clothes were decontaminated separately. They could definitely have a service for the uncontaminated undergarments.
