  • I see people comment in twitter posts how things like the govt. lies through the media or attempts to crack down on free speech as being "like the war".

    There has been an effort in the US to get the personal stories of soldiers before they die to document the historical details and personal accounts. My dad participated in one of them as did some of his friends. Their accounts given in recent years were very far from the "John Wayne" typical US war stories and very introspect.

  • @lillymunster scary I worked at a gas station in England on nights in a town where there were riots 15yrs ago no other staff I couldnt close they would have razed the place and I couldnt have driven away so I stuck it out
