@ElaineKirk The NHK also said stress had more negative effects on health than cancer after Chernobyl.

@ElaineKirk It's a mess. NHK showed a documentary tonight that said JP rad standards are middle among EU & US. Many Ty on both sides.rockhopper has dm'ed me saying she has big problem in that the no nukes camp is getting more emotional and the other side are not being scientific and there needs to be a focus on radiation AND stress not radiation OR stress . She invited me to share .

@Majj in two decades when the health effects are manifesting it will be too late

Oh dear word is now out among the Japanese public that ND really means below upper limit they are not amused
by elainekirk 9/26/2011 2:47:04 PM

@elainekirk ?? ND - none detected, doesn't that mean nothing or below the monitors capabilty?
by lillymunster 9/26/2011 2:52:59 PM

@lillymunster no it means below the set level tepco say it on their docs but the food people dont
by elainekirk 9/26/2011 2:55:55 PM

@elainekirk I need more coffee. :-) So who sets that level and is it food testing or just TEPCo testing?
by lillymunster 9/26/2011 2:58:59 PM

well I havent seen but that doc this morning may have clues.
I believe it is food but having not seen the disclaimer that tepco attatch to their ND on food sites I am being very careful till I find it in black and white
by elainekirk 9/26/2011 3:02:57 PM

@elainekirk If ND is becoming the "below legal limit" or something like that, that is a huge problem. People have the right to know data, exact levels and make decisions for themselves. Let me know what you find out as this evolves.
by lillymunster 9/26/2011 3:07:01 PM

@lillymunster yes I am just scouring gov docs now
by elainekirk 9/26/2011 3:11:49 PM

here is an example of not detected in seawater from a gov agency docs.google.com finding plenty examples in food but looking for it set out irrefutably docs.google.com
by elainekirk 9/26/2011 3:18:59 PM

AH, none detected (below such and such reading). What a load of crap. Those below numbers are readable numbers based on other testing we have seen.

Other People’s Money: Is TVA’s Watts Bar/Bellefonte Swap Creative Financing or Avoiding the Inevitable Debt Fight?:
ansnuclearcafe.orgby elainekirk 9/26/2011 4:41:37 PM

@elainekirk I still don't understand TVA's sudden interest in resurrecting Bellafonte from the dead right after Fuku. Seems like a horrible time to build a NPP with companies pulling out of the industry or losing money.

"---------- TEPCO promises to act after criticism over compensation procedure
TOKYO - Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Monday it will implement measures to address criticism that the application procedure for compensation related to the ongoing nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant was too complicated.
TEPCO said it would also "eliminate" a phrase that could be taken as implying that the company would not accept additional claims even if an application form was incomplete due to unavoidable reasons."

* In order to repair the outlet valve of Unit 5 residual heat removal
system seawater pump (D), from 9:45 am to 10:42 am, September 26, we
switched the seawater pump from B system (permanently installed) to A
system (temporarily installed).
* We restarted transferring the accumulated water from the basement of the
Unit 6 turbine building to the temporary tank at 10:00 am, September 26.
* One of the staff from the cooperating companies was injured catching his
forth finger between the steel stocks in site of the power plant
(outdoors) at 11:05 am, September 26. The staff returned to the office
outside the site and headed for the emergency medical office with a
surgical mask on. We are planning to conduct a measurement with a whole
body counter, because the possibility of radioactive materials intake
cannot be denied. Contamination on the surface of the body and the
surgical mask is not detected.

@RadioGuy cool. I hadn't noticed comments piling up. Will have to go see what sort of bees nest that stirred up. I have noticed Thorium has a bit of a political slant to it in the US. It is being fed to the unwashed masses via some political/corporate lobby groups as the solution. So you get lots of people who read an article and consider themselves experts.
by lillymunster 9/26/2011 7:18:33 PM

LOL. Oh that must have gotten shared on some pro-thorium fanboy site. I just love how they all start out with "your totally wrong" and most don't go on to actually refute anything in the article.
