  • @lillymunster anything to do with the January 1st quake at Fuku? we will never know
    by MaryW 1/7/2012 11:41:51 PM

  • @MaryW Looking at it, Jan 4th doesn't look like a spike to me, maybe others can give some opinions? There is a higher jump in November and the increase on Jan 4th seemed within the normal highs and lows. Looking at an entire year's readings would help see pre fuku and post fuku highs, lows and norms.
    by lillymunster 1/7/2012 11:42:22 PM

  • @MaryW too soon. It takes more than 4 days to travel to the US. IIRC we had a 5-10 day window for the first cloud from the blasts to hit the west coast.

What would be worth looking at are the recent spikes and count the days and check the west coast that many days later. IIRC they saw the first of the initial blast in Alaska March 18-22 so 5-10 days after the date of the Fuku and Chiba spikes in Jan could show something..
    by lillymunster 1/7/2012 11:43:00 PM

  • yeah, the 4 day window seems to rule it out. so any US nuke plant leaks is in question then?

  • @MaryW hmm. The spike isn't really big on the 4th but it is possible they could be connected. I would look to see if that November spike coincides with something at Pilgrim.

  • Leaking hoses at Fuku blamed on cold:

The first nuclear power plant in Fukushima risk of freezing contaminated water circulation hose to crack, "Winter pitfalls"

"Convergence" is declared in the Fukushima nuclear power should first stable reactor used to purify contaminated water "cooling system circulating water injection" is a series of troubles. You are concerned about contamination of water freezing in the hose entered a period of severe winter, which can cause new problems such as degraded.

Abnormally swelled portion of the hose about 8 cm in diameter, the surface had cracks. What was the leak, the 16th Prime Minister recently declared Yoshihiko Noda self-focusing. As the primary "stable" and indicates that the situation was far from sight.

The hose was replaced, causing bloat is unknown. Junichi Matsumoto, chief representative of the TEPCO nuclear location "may be degraded within the continuous use" it said. The hose was made of PVC installed around June last year. Hose is exposed to UV rays of the summer, that there is a possibility that it becomes hard easily damaged by cold.

  • I just got a tip from a trusted source that is in the evac zone. TEPCO has bought a store plaza called TOMTOM near Tomioka to use as some sort of operation base. I guess the rad levels there are lower. They are also looking at the Namie Japan Rail station to see if the radiation levels are low there. There is suspicion TEPCO wants to use that rail line. But what for??
