This one I found interesting. It shows the bubbled up surface of containment but with a smooth spot sans paint/rust.

@Peter I think that photo indicates it is paint instead of rust

@Peter I'm not sure if we have any in containment photos. I have a couple inside the torus room and in the torus. I have some inspecting control rods but IIRC they were removed from the area. One inside unit 5's pedestal. I have a few dealing with the air locks to containment. The paint on the air lock doors is bright orange. Someone mentioned the paint put on the containment steel when it is put in during contstruction is covered in rust colored primer. But we only see the outside in those photos. So not sure if either example would be the right "orange paint'?

TEPCO to be nationalized for at least 10 years

Public will no longer be allowed to attend in person the NISA stress test review meetings. They will only be allowed to watch from a different room via TV.

@Peter looks like inside 2 ran from 150-600 celsius in early weeks. The 600 reading is for one of the control rod drive heat sensors.

fukushima-diary.com Kesennuma Miyagi, where got the worst damage of Tsunami in 311, restarted oyster farm but the shells grow unusually fast.
They reopened the farm last June after having the port completely destroyed by Tsunami. The oyster was 1~2cm at the time but they have already grown to be about 10cm, which is as double fast as usual.
At average, it takes 2 years but they are already starting to sell them from 1/19/2012.
Fisher’s experiment station of Kesennuma thinks it might be because the rivals of oyster died or nitrogen nutrition might have flown from ground soil by Tsunami. Nobody has considered the risk of radiation.

Hey @dean, friends of mine are holding a conference in Chicago in May, and they are interested in talking to a present or former nuclear industry worker, who can also speak a little about exposure issues among nuclear workers. Would you be interested, or know of someone that would be interested? The conference is at the University of Chicago. They are the folks who run the Atomic Age blog:
