    by radioguy 4/10/2011 6:20:17 PM

  • @radioguy look at the thermal images for R4 the same shape as our object is pretty darn hot!
    by Tenzing 4/10/2011 6:25:22 PM

  • @Tenzing look in the wikispace file above.. you need to go into several headings, but seen them there yesterday
    by fitter 4/10/2011 6:26:30 PM

  • @SinthiaDomina@Anyone: In the CNN "Traveled through radiation zone" video posted a short time ago. About 1 minute into the video, what are the reporter's words? I can not understand what he says. "...protective suits don't really protect you from ???WHAT????which actually are the main component of radiation".
    by MaryW 4/10/2011 6:30:04 PM

  • @fitter will you read the last few posts from radioguy and me I'd like your opinion, thanks
    by Tenzing 4/10/2011 6:32:10 PM

  • were is waldo folks.... there is a sizable amout of equipment shown on the elevation drawing, that may or may not be pertain to what you are looking at, but i am sure they could have become projectils
    by fitter 4/10/2011 6:32:30 PM

  • @Tenzing i was just trying, but im late for an appt.... and don't understand what your looking at.... can you give me a quick summary

  • Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. Farms in the range of 10 kilometers from nuclear power plants. Have been left many cattle. Many cattle are dying.

  • for those trying to work out what the object is that appears to have landed on #4 - see top right of attached - yellow or orange crane (/) assembly?? www.nucleartourist.com

by UKVal via Nucleartourist 4/10/2011 6:38:00 PM

  • @Tenzing if you pull the elev. drawing... the elevation doesn't seem like it went out the building.... but "LOOK at the left side of PCV and you see a note "contaiment asecc hatch" is seems to be around ground level.... or just a little above..... if they had an explosion from in the contaiment or better said "the asecc" door may be the leakest point ..... could it have built up gas and blow outward.... i would think it would be like a sub with a double acess doores.... may be the outer door went not the sealing on at the PCV, can't tell by the pic

  • @e123: Yes, and all the animals within that zone, hopefully will not breed a new generation. That's the scary and unsafe issue here, in my opinion.
    by MaryW 4/10/2011 6:39:07 PM

  • @Tenzing what in the pic are you looking at
    by fitter 4/10/2011 6:40:49 PM

  • fitter: bldg. 4. look at the roof (what remains of it) on the left side of the image, notice how the framing of the roof leans in toward the bldg. and you'll see a HUGE object that looks like it landed on the roof. I think its something from the explosion of bldg. 3, what do you think? also look at thermal images for bldg. 4 this object is hot.

  • by Tenzing 4/10/2011 6:49:27 PM

  • @Tenzing at elevation 33700 just under the service floor, do not know what side of bld... there are two large condensate tanks,,, they probably have a hot condensate seeing how they are in the containment bld , except.... the seem to vent directly to the outside and not the scrubbers so that i deal may not hold water,,, tanks would be large and would do some damage if they became projectiles but there would have to be a big hole in the wall of building #3 at that location... going back to look at thermal
    by fitter 4/10/2011 6:50:14 PM

  • Note the hot trace from the tank below it, and is that a rod on the ground up above? the hot line. I see ejecta heat spray right in arc with where that huge chunk would have ejected and hit.
    by radioguy 4/10/2011 6:51:10 PM

  • Which end of the R4 is the SFP on?
    by radioguy 4/10/2011 6:52:19 PM

  • Did R4 building corner take the hit, roll the piece, and then the corner of the SFP stopped it? That musta hurt.
    by radioguy 4/10/2011 6:53:24 PM

  • @radioguy not sure
    by Tenzing 4/10/2011 6:53:29 PM

  • Of course, the other possibility is that it came down on that edge of R4 from the R3 explosion and the corner took the hit and rolled it.

  • @radioguy look on unit 3 turbine building there is heat source in big hole on the roof
    by John 4/10/2011 7:02:09 PM

  • Too bad there aren't more wide shots. Look at the image of R4. See the hotspot on the roof or in the building below, just below the 4 diagonal dots.

  • by John via Img121.imageshack.us 4/10/2011 7:04:42 PM

  • Great shot Tenzing. Putty colored smudge, on outer wall, strike and roll. What is that thing?
    @John... I believe you're right.
    by radioguy 4/10/2011 7:05:56 PM

  • The thermals of number 1 the v.cold spots outside the building are I assume the water spraying/delivering apparatus if these are spraying water at the time the image was taken would the results be affected?
    by elainekirk 4/10/2011 7:06:40 PM

  • @radioguy I was working on R4 images Friday. That section you posted a close up of where the wall is caved in. Look directly to the right of the caved in part that long slab of debris is a piece of #3's wall. From certain angles you can see the blue outside paint on that chunk on the roof.
    by Nancy 4/10/2011 7:07:19 PM

  • Look at how the R4 framing shattered there. Away from the STRIKE.
    by radioguy 4/10/2011 7:07:36 PM

  • @elainekirk Yes
    by John 4/10/2011 7:07:47 PM
