@fitter @all We've been barraged by not only a bewildering array of information that this group has dug up, and multiple updates of the same information. In a system like this, mentioning what you think you've found and letting others comment on it is part of the Socratic process. Someone will hopefully pull up the most current info, and through this we winnow our way to the truth. Let's all beware of a concept of ownership of information or research. It's a group effort. If we're told our info is old or has already been discussed, with some resolution earlier, the best approach is to think OK, I can move on. - @Tenzing There was a company where I lived in Colorado called Explosive Fabricators. They did die molding my setting off a blast in water to slam a sheet into a mold. I'm looking at that outer wall of R4, and thinking how its tensile strength would have held, bowed inward then buckled, giving an arced "die" to slam the piece into. It's a valid hypothesis, and has credibility added to it by the fact that there's not as much radiation as you'd expect if the containment blew.by radioguy 4/10/2011 7:50:02 PM
- @Tenzing was looking at that earlier with my other half between us we have 70 years... we suspect that something came over that area kept on going, probably in the water or out of the pic,,,, but the object onthe roof looks like the INSIDE part of the service floor walls.... they have a sheeting and there would be insulation between the concrete and the TIN sheeting you see if you pull up the pic of the service floor,,, LInger what do you think ..... Tenzing its just a thought and it may be hot from the area or have something showing hot on it..... but how ever the wall got bent would have sent the inside stuff moving in that direction.... what do you thinkby fitter 4/10/2011 7:52:46 PM

Isotopes
There are four naturally occurring isotopes of iron, iron-54, iron-56, iron-57, and iron-58. Isotopes are two or more forms of an element. Isotopes differ from each other according to their mass number. The number written to the right of the element's name is the mass number. The mass number represents the number of protons plus neutrons in the nucleus of an atom of the element. The number of protons determines the element, but the number of neutrons in the atom of any one element can vary. Each variation is an isotope.
Six radioactive isotopes of iron are known also. A radioactive isotope is one that breaks apart and gives off some form of radiation. Radioactive isotopes are produced when very small particles are fired at atoms. These particles stick in the atoms and make them radioactive.
Two radioactive isotopes of iron are used in medical and scientific research. They are iron-55 and iron-59. These isotopes are used primarily as tracers in studies on blood. A tracer is a radioactive isotope whose presence in a system can easily be detected. The isotope is injected into the system. Inside the system, the isotope gives off radiation. That radiation can be followed by detectors placed around the system. Iron-55 and iron-59 are used to study the way in which red blood cells develop in the body. These studies can be used to tell if a person's blood is healthy.
