@ColorMeRed Yeah they drove right up to the gates of Fukushima Daiichi, and said something silly like "I got lost, where is the highway?". The workers kept telling them "Don't open your door, don't open your window, it's not safe. You shouldn't be here."

@ColorMeRed Yeah, the toll area must have been for the highway, but I specifically saw him drive to maneuver past a sort of improv blockade that said "no entry". There are probably a lot of roads that need blocking, and they probably assume people aren't foolish enough to try to go past a big sign that says "DANGER! STOP!" Did you see the reaction of the worker at the gate? Total WTF moment.

Google has a "translate document" feature. If you upload the PDF it will translate it minus the images (it will keep the respective location of the text though).

I may finally have a line on some high res images, limited view and still don't know how much they want but might be worth it if they are the right views.

@Nancy The US has a plane that flys over everyday.. Today they used the T-Hawk RC flying garbage can for 28 mins for all 4 reactors..

news.discovery.com @Nancy I believe the daily thermals are from a Global Hawk... The Global Hawk is an autonomous, jet-powered UAV with a sensor package that includes synthetic-aperture radar as well as electro-optical and infrared sensors with telescopic capability for high-resolution imagery.

The infrared sensors, which can detect heat, may be able to acquire images of the reactors showing which parts of them are at what temperatures, and repeated observations could provide critical data about the effectiveness of different attempts at cooling the reactor vessels and spent fuel pools. news.discovery.com

Seeing a side view of some of those heat signatures could help figure a few things out at least from trying to dissect images. Would probably tell more about what is going on with the reactors?

@ColorMeRed Try sucking the PDF into google docs (Click the tick box to import from PDFs rather than just saving them). It will strip it out into a googledoc format that you can share with anyone with a link, then google into it that way and translate it.

@Rob in SF They sent one there last month and used it to build a radiation map. So hard to say if it has thermal or not.. More likely the globalhawk in my opinion..
