  • @elainekirk - yes the figs for radiation between the doors of the reactor #1 building were astonishing, implying something must be going on in there. But no 'official' data for RPV pressures, temps etc for 3 days?
    by hudebnik 4/18/2011 8:20:33 AM

  • @hudebnik @markfm is always who I look to for figures and I havent seen him around much over the weekend lets hope today brings some numbers
    by elainekirk 4/18/2011 8:24:25 AM

  • @hudebnik - The data is being released. Are you basing that statement on the lack of updates at fukushimadatapage?
by Hank Scorpio 4/18/2011 8:29:25 AM

  • @hank scorpio - yes
    by hudebnik 4/18/2011 8:31:54 AM

  • @hank could you post updates and I will add them to the pinned please
    by elainekirk 4/18/2011 8:32:16 AM

    - That is the main one I use. Keep in mind pressure readings assume atmospheric pressure, so add .101Mpa to the number in order to reference the data at FDP properly.

  • TY both - hard to compare using the raw data but looks like #1RPV still rising
    by hudebnik 4/18/2011 8:46:40 AM

  • @Hank thankyou I have posted that and taken the 15th down so if you have any other readings they would be useful

  • At 2:34 pm, April 17th, the occurrence of a short circuit caused by thelack of repair of the end of the unused cable which is connected parallelto the power of spent fuel common pool caused the circuit breaker of thepower side to open resulting in suspended power supply to the spent fuelcommon pool. However, at 5:30 pm, April 17th, the power of the spent fuelcommon pool was restored after the removal and inspection of the cable.* From 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, April 17th, we confirmed plant conditions(radiation dose, temperature, measurement of oxygen density, etc) usingthe remote-controlled robot. In addition, we confirmed the plantconditions inside of Unit 1's reactor building from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm,April 17th. www.tepco.co.jp

Nuclear Power Stations (NPSs) Fukushima Dai-ichi NPS- Confirmation of situation, etc. was carried out by unmanned robot atthe Reactor Building for Unit 1 (From 16:00 till 17:30 April 17th).- Confirmation of situation, etc. was carried out by unmanned robot atthe Reactor Building for Unit 3 (From 11:30 till 14:00 April 17th).- In order to cool the Spent Fuel Pool of Unit 4, the Fresh water sprayof around 140t using Concrete Pump Truck (62m class) was carriedout. (From 17:39 till 21:22 April 17th).- Regarding the Common Spent Fuel Pool, power supply was stoppeddue to short-circuiting of the end of the power supply circuit. (14:34April 17th) Thereafter the facility inspection was carried out and thepower supply was recovered. (17:30 April 17th)- As of 05:15 April 17th, water temperature of the Common Spent FuelPool was around 34℃.- The test implementation of spraying anti-scattering agent to preventthe spread of radioactive materials on the ground surface was carriedout, in the area of about 1,900 m2 on the mountain-side of theRadioactive Waste Treatment Facilities (From 10:00 till 13:30 April17th).Extract2- Removal of rubble (Amount equivalent to 2 containers) usingremote-control heavy machineries was carried out. • Heat images released for today. #4 has the hot spot away from the SFP again. www.mod.go.jp
    by Nancy 4/18/2011 11:45:50 AM

  • @Nancy Guess we saw early why they had to flood the R4 reactor building, eh?
    by radioguy 4/18/2011 11:49:08 AM

  • @radioguy I just found something really odd. The heat signatures on 4 outside of the SFP are in different spots. One from 3.20 shows the heat along the landside wall or at least that side of the center line. Today's is along the mid line and almost in front of the yellow containment cap.
    by Nancy 4/18/2011 11:53:33 AM

  • @Nancy Sorry, just got your question. The contributors on Yokosonews today are apparantly selected listeners of Katz's show. Questions are being fielded via their social stream.
    by es 4/18/2011 12:01:01 PM

  • @es I didn't know Katz was yokosonews. :-)
    by Nancy 4/18/2011 12:04:15 PM

  • The heat signature today on 4 was repeated on 3.29 where heat on the midline. Going back through heat images the heat on 4 is in different areas on different days. From what we can see inside there are piles of rubble in those areas.

    by Markfm 4/18/2011 12:36:08 PM

  • With 5m of water inside the #4 building, that's going to be a real head-scratcher (what to do with it -- don't want all that water to suddenly come out from a crack, and they need to be able to get inside, I expect).
