It seems to me that among other agenda items, we should be insisting the NRC stop allowing more rod into SPF, and start moving as much as possible as fast as possible to dry cask storage. Absent a final solution, it's absurd that we have so much potential for danger sitting around just because it's cheaper. Fukushinma proves conclusively that dry cask is far safer. - @Nancy re: marketwatch.com article Says only one Station Blackout has occurred, which seems to me to minimize the problem. Surely the several multi-state blackouts that we have endured (some of which lasted considerably longer than several hours) led to blackout conditions at many nuclear reactors.
