
they produce enough heat and do have a jacket water cooling system run by the diesel but that flow goes through a heat exchange that transfers the heat to a secondary system.. still researching... @ Daniele

I sent a mail to a diesel generator supplier for commercial reactors to ask them about the auxilliary cooling.. typically they need it for the jacket water and lube oil cooler

aside from the mail power produced to go out on the grid system the steam also generated that other electrical power I spoke of... which is separate from any diesel power

that's what I think is a good possibility Jim... usually the emergency diesels have to withstand the same seismic as the reactor,, but the auxillary systems may not

good one that I haven't detailed yet.. I do know that 6 is the only unit that has 2 emergency diesels plus a third that is air cooled.

that.. is a good point that needs research @ Nancy.. where I worked a diesel was always running and it supplied the cooling water to the facility on one pump...
