Summary of Press Conference by Chief Cabinet Secretary Edano (May 17th, 2011, at 9:40).
by Prime Minister's Office of Japan on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 12:42pm
.
With regard to the accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, I am aware of some media reports that the cooling systems were manually suspended. I believe that we first need to instruct Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) to submit a detailed report on the facts and backgrounds, and then make our assessment and judgment based on that report. We will also urge TEPCO to fully disclose the contents of the report.
The meeting of the Headquarters for Nuclear Emergency will be held this evening and we are planning to decide on the Government’s roadmap to bring the situation of the nuclear power plant under control.
