I'm not sure whether it is. I was more certain last night of that. I can't see any smoke from 3 anymore, but I can still see orange

UN body to probe Fukushima radiation impact Published: Monday, May 23, 2011, 21:36 IST Place: Vienna | Agency: Reuters www.dnaindia.com The United Nations Scientific Committee on the effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), which has published reports about the 1986 Chernobyl accident, said it would take at least two years to produce a full report on the issue.
"Everybody wants answers tomorrow or next week ... but this is not possible. We need time," UNSCEAR Chairman Wolfgang Weiss told a news conference, adding that preliminary findings were expected in May 2012.
"So far what we have seen in the population, what we have seen in children with thyroid screening, what we have seen in workers ... we wouldn't expect to see health effects," he said.

the orange on 3 certainly seems to flicker -but so does the cam pic so it's hard to be sure
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:21:13 PM
@UKVal it follows a different pattern than the shifting pixels do and the red comes and goes.
by Nancy 5/23/2011 4:21:48 PM
oops correction, not bottom left of 4, rather bottom right, where the smoke is coming from
by NervousinNJ 5/23/2011 4:21:54 PM
@UKVal A lot of the smoke from 3 seems to be obscured by the stack. Every now and again I'll get a visual but the darkness at 3 makes it a little more difficult.
by LM 5/23/2011 4:21:58 PM
@LM inside our outside the building?
by Nancy 5/23/2011 4:23:01 PM
@UKVal True but as you watch it shoots up and changes direction much like a campfire as heat builds.
by ch 5/23/2011 4:23:11 PM
Some of The smoke from 4 is definitely from the SFP as well.
by LM 5/23/2011 4:23:28 PM
@Nancy - trouble is my laptop crashes if I'm in full screen for too long. Re 3 -have def seen smoke inside the stack, but not in last few minutes
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:23:50 PM
# is on fire
by deb 5/23/2011 4:24:50 PM
@Nancy I'm not sure if it's inside or outside 4. I can see orange right at tree line and really can't make it out.
by LM 5/23/2011 4:24:52 PM
#3 is on fire
by deb 5/23/2011 4:24:55 PM
@deb are we certain? yikes!
by NervousinNJ 5/23/2011 4:25:45 PM
@Nancy How many floors are above tree line on 4? Do you know?
by LM 5/23/2011 4:27:02 PM
@NervousinNJ video up in a bit, the iphone picked it up
by deb 5/23/2011 4:27:10 PM
anyone seeing a blue light 3 - on treeline?
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:27:21 PM
@ Nancy ground level or treeline level not sure which. Not as familiar with orientation but seems to be about where the dark part of 4 changes to lighter wall. I think it's inside and flaring out of opening-little puffs of smoke come off of it and mix in with plume
by ch 5/23/2011 4:28:28 PM
@NervousinNJ - not 100% sure, but strong possiblility
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:28:43 PM
I was filiming the smoke above 4 with tilted screen, picked up all the smoke on #3, but didn't catch the flames at first.
by deb 5/23/2011 4:28:47 PM
forget blue light.. could be worklight...
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:29:30 PM
*sick feeling in stomach*
by NervousinNJ 5/23/2011 4:29:49 PM
wow flame(?) on 3 just jumped then died back...
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:30:58 PM
however.. if there are flames on 3 how come they're not spreading?
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:32:45 PM
@UKVal I guess the question is..how much flammable rubble is left?
by LM 5/23/2011 4:34:03 PM
..whereas 4 does seem to be 'billowing' again
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:34:25 PM
@UKVal we can only see parts could be no other fuel to burn-not much left of building. or some one could be watering with truck
by ch 5/23/2011 4:34:53 PM
@LM true - but it would die down fairly quickly then..
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:35:11 PM
Interesting the you tube upload, incredibly slow, and jumped from 4 minutes to 7 minutes just now. arrrrrr
by deb 5/23/2011 4:35:30 PM
@ch good point - I think they'd have to water -fast!
by UKVal 5/23/2011 4:35:33 PM
@UKVal Unless burning fuel is the source..
by LM 5/23/2011 4:35:48 PM
I think the reddish-orange things near 3 & 4 are Putzmeisters. The one near 3 in Nancy's photos looks like what I see here: www.pmw.de
