  • Hi again all
    by bo 7/5/2011 1:03:38 PM

  • I posted this last night. Looking for opinions on the information provided. It is a citizen put together brochure on protecting yourself from radiation in Japan. I want to make sure it is considered good accurate information before putting something about it on the group web site. japanfocus.org
    by lillymunster 7/5/2011 1:05:42 PM

  • @lillymunster @bo and @dean and I think @edano made positive comment Lilly

  • @bo hi bo
    by elainekirk 7/5/2011 1:13:05 PM

  • @Markfm ty Mark good to see you do you have an opinion on #4?
    by elainekirk 7/5/2011 1:13:37 PM

  • @elaine and @lilly my comment had to do with the effectiveness of the communication style, that it was accessible to non-specialists in its description of radiation
    by bo 7/5/2011 1:14:26 PM

  • It's way too warm, but has been for a long time.
    by Markfm 7/5/2011 1:18:31 PM

  • Can't figure out how they'll get the circulation system in place there, could be an interesting evolution.
    by Markfm 7/5/2011 1:22:03 PM

  • @Markfm that is a good way of putting it :) do you think the water level and temp in the sfp is cause for concern? I find it hard to understand all the figures
    by elainekirk 7/5/2011 1:25:13 PM

  • @Markfm any thoughts on why they are letting 4's sfp run so low?

    by lillymunster 7/5/2011 1:49:34 PM

  • I'd wonder how well the evolution to put the supports under the SFP has gone -- perhaps they have actually done a mechanical calculation on load bearing, determined that it's not safe to hold XX amount of water in there, particularly now that they have allowed people in the building. It would not be a good day if they really poured a lot of water in and it blew out while workers were inside. Just a thought.
    by Markfm 7/5/2011 1:50:41 PM

  • @Markfm they have completed the metal supports, not sure where they are on the concrete pouring. They worked most of the project with the SFP full. They filled the reactor and tool pit last week to cut down on radiation levels. The only two reasons I could come up with for the low level is some attempt to hack into the sfp pipes to install a cooling system. Or structural worries.
    by lillymunster 7/5/2011 1:53:24 PM

  • Something else odd with the sfp. They put supports in the floor level under the SFP, but don't add anything to the levels below that. Are the walls and floors of those lower levels strong enough to bear the weight as is?
    by lillymunster 7/5/2011 1:54:51 PM

  • @Markfm that explanation fits @lilly the cponcrete aint gonna happen from the tweets I saw last week it was felt the building couldnt take it thougfh that could have changed
    by elainekirk 7/5/2011 1:55:15 PM

  • @elainekirk eww. That is not good. If the building can't handle the concrete pillars there must be more structural damage.
    by lillymunster 7/5/2011 1:58:15 PM

  • @lillymunster are you following happy's tweets?
I'm No. 1 on-site construction is ongoing circulation of cooling in the furnace and plumbing connections ready for cranes Cover ゙ Rinku. I know I recently oiler, I have two large cranes, why? What does one want to be landed from a ship and a member Rinku Cover ゙ (I say What we oiler is draining), and one that I heard for the assembly.
① continued: I want to come late I Hachotto Cover Rinku, After a bit I should come. But many people may know it in the press, assembly Rinku Cover ゙'d love to incorporate the technology will be incorporated in Japan using a carpenter's wooden bolt.
② continued: I've also been questioned after the oiler, but I was also wondering whether to force byte combinations without ゙ how the heavy rope like that in the high when a combination like that, I finally understood.
③ more: When you force Surundatte byte combinations to control the wind like a fan its a great Tsuite next lifted member. Sugo Iyo. When I see the combination. To various sites we've got luck everyone.
④ more: But worry not I'll like it. To assemble, I think I want the wind blows hard and doing well. In the even-completed design is What I'm 25m wind speed, and I think I gotta bad position 35m .... I worried about the typhoon.

Unit 2 is so far outside the main transport of contaminated water is not Japanese and Chinese. No. 3 is like the end of the iron shield duckboard, it's like to set future nitrogen injection hose and tubing. No. 4 is like doing plumbing and cooling in the furnace circulation.
① more: I went to the fuel pool water flows either before this oiler System Operation'm filled with fuel in the visible, the steam Sugo Iyo. I would take the steam cloudy in the mask. It's like a large spring. It's amazing views are not visible from the sea wall around the front can view from the System Operation.
② more: acrophobe I think it absolutely useless. Oiler in the mood a bit, I'm measured by wiping with a rag water at GM with the mask, I thought ranked lower than 1000cpm. Japanese and Chinese ... I do not nuclide.
③ more: I often question the collapse of Unit 4 also recently ...? Unit 4 What is the total collapse certainly I think but not dangerous. I want the government to declare but not safe.

Rockhopper usually translates workers tweets but he has tweeted that he is just too tired today

  • @lillymunster , by and large I like the flier. This whole eclat with the minister is a about etiquette. That is the young man from Fukushima stood up the minister by being late. That was the stone of contention. I thought he took the reproach rather cooly and believe he planned the eclat as a form of protest. He showed backbone. It takes guts to stand up to a minister. Great guy!

  • Editorial on better use of lighting to save energy. We did this at one workplace where it was mostly technical people working on computers. We had minimal overhead lights on and small task lighting on desk surfaces. It was done to eliminate screen glare but managed to drastically cut power usage. It also lowered the level of eye strain headaches and or some reason caused people to speak in quieter tones. www.asahi.com
