by lillymunster via Twitpic 8/1/2011 1:08:09 PM

  • @Edano @lillymunster it sounds like the exhaust pipe is broken and releasing the radiation which means that it has been exiting into the atmosphere through the stack till now.
Lilly that is the bodies immune system breaking down

  • @lillymunster , gm everybody, do you know anything about the owner of this hand?
by Peter Melzer 8/1/2011 1:49:57 PM

  • @Peter Melzer all that is with it is that it is a mother in Fukushima.
    by lillymunster 8/1/2011 1:51:12 PM

  • @lillymunster , people should get their blood cells counted.
by Peter Melzer 8/1/2011 1:55:44 PM

  • @Peter Melzer can you identify the circled items

    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 1:57:16 PM

  • As to radiation measurements at the tall stacks, the NISA report to IAEA recounts on V-18: "However, after the loss of external power supply on March 11, the operation of air-conditioning and ventilation facilities and sampling facilities suspended and therefore discharge monitoring became not possible. Although measured results of the air stack monitoring in some units were recorded until March 12, it is presumed that those results were caused by an increase in the level of radioactivity outside measuring facilities, given the suspension of the operation of the sampling facilities."
by Peter Melzer 8/1/2011 1:57:58 PM

  • @Edano do you have any idea of costs for people to have blood counts?
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:01:34 PM

  • @elainekirk , I have no idea. Since it looks like a bent rod, this may be a fuel element. It may be glowing red hot. By simply taking a heat gun to it, we would know, would not we? 1,000 Sievert/h , I mean ONE THOUSAND SIEVERT, sounds insanely high.
by Peter Melzer 8/1/2011 2:05:37 PM

  • @elainekirk nothing, or not much. it is a simple blood status. they count the red and white cells always.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:06:20 PM

  • maybe 12-15 bucks.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:06:50 PM

  • @lillymunster : didn't you say it is a worker's hand ?
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:07:53 PM

  • @Edano so it is possible to rally some locals maybe
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:10:25 PM

  • of course, if you get fungus, it is always a problem with the immune system, or a lack of anticipating bacterias. but it's a question of scale. fungus on the skin is normal flora of the skin, you get dermatitis quite easy. fungus in the internal organs is a real problem of immune system.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:11:38 PM

  • @Peter Melzer 10,000 is the figure nhk and asahi give translate.google.com
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:11:48 PM

  • @Edano I got the impression it was a workers hand earlier
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:12:40 PM

  • @Edano nope a mother in the area.
    by lillymunster 8/1/2011 2:13:16 PM

  • the costs for checking special immune cells is more expensive, but this has to be checked in detail.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:13:20 PM

  • @lillymunster the mother who wanted her family home so started checking the area because gov said it was saffe but she found (with what seems an excellent dosimeter that levels were up to 60+ msv/hr ?
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:15:26 PM

  • @lillymunster strange. only two distant fingers are affected. i would expect only one finger or all. if she does not do any specific work with these two fingers that would explain it, i would ask a doctor.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:15:42 PM

  • @Edano but a straight count would show immune system problems ?
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:16:14 PM

  • Iwate beef cattle shipments banned | The Japan Times Online: bit.ly via @AddThis
    by elainekirk 8/1/2011 2:16:26 PM

  • @elainekirk yes. that's the first thing you check. then you check more specific.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:17:34 PM

  • but it can be anything, even aids can look like this.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:18:22 PM

  • don't forget only a small part of the population was healthy before fuku... just like everywhere.
    by Edano 8/1/2011 2:19:47 PM

  • but it is the right idea to think of immune defects. yes.
