  • @elainekirk what do you want to say with those 2 screenshots
    by DT 9/29/2011 8:52:37 PM

  • @Edano it almost looks like a splatter
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 8:53:07 PM

  • @DT there is a difference I can see I wondered if others could
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 8:53:34 PM

  • @elainekirk the panels up along the refueling floor level?
    by lillymunster 9/29/2011 8:54:34 PM

  • @elainekirk, do you mean the new pannels over #1 ?
    by DT 9/29/2011 8:56:36 PM

  • it is the gap between the framework and #2 it seems to have cllosed I have tried overlaying and still get the movement just trying to be really exact with the overlay but it easy to match up I dont think I am wrong but could be
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 8:57:11 PM

  • have they put a panel on that face that may explain it
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 8:58:11 PM

  • holes and a crack ?

    by Edano 9/29/2011 8:58:45 PM

  • @Edano OMG yes it is as though it has holed and then vapours have condensed and run out through the hole/crack
how sticky would a hot fuel rod be could one have hit it or not (dont laugh I am just thinking out loud)
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:00:13 PM

  • the stack must be highly irradiated inside.
    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:03:21 PM

  • haha that picture was supposed to look clean and nice, but they forgot to run paintshop over the stack ! :)
    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:05:44 PM

  • @Edano it has been eaten there looks to be a blob of paint that must have melted
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:11:31 PM

  • It looks cracked. It could have happened during the big quake. That height is about half way up the tower, it could have been a stress point as those towers sway. Could it have rusted that much in 6 months?
    by lillymunster 9/29/2011 9:11:38 PM

  • @lillymunster could be rust, could be cesium. yes i think it could be rusted in 6 months. salty water. depends on the material, of course.
    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:14:17 PM

  • @lillymunster doesnt look like rust to me it has a flow to it and there is untainted paint ?
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:14:32 PM

  • #1 has gassy air coming out ?
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:15:05 PM

  • would love to see that stack 'rust' area without the crane obscuring parts
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:15:58 PM

  • found another interesting detail. something sticking out of #3 about where sfp is located. what could that be ?

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:17:59 PM

  • @Edano can you pinpoint it for this novice please
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:22:08 PM

  • left is east (sea side)

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:23:49 PM

  • @Edano, that location of Unit 3 is well-imaged, so it should be easy to look at some hi-res images and see what it is, or if it was even there then too. Great spot on what sure looks like a cesium-vapor-residue-leaking rupture of the Unit 1 stack!
    by Ian 9/29/2011 9:29:40 PM

  • drilled steel ???

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:30:41 PM

  • @me, both photos are rather grainy close up, I don't think we can get certitude form them alone.
    by Ian 9/29/2011 9:32:11 PM

  • now this "melted blop" does look strange.

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:36:08 PM

  • @Edano I wonder if there are other shots of that stack I will go look
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:38:09 PM

  • @elainekirk and maybe this pic bigger than 716 x 537.

  • its on the support struts too so it must be something that hit it then corroded//ate it
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:45:07 PM

  • @elainekirk Unit 1 sneezed cesium? :-)
    by lillymunster 9/29/2011 9:46:05 PM

  • by Edano 9/29/2011 9:47:38 PM

  • @lillymunster lol it looks so with a sprinkle of str Salt and pu Pepper
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:47:52 PM

  • moving further down the stack you have their magic spray on this one so not as defined

    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 9:52:25 PM

  • a large suitcase in roof window (probably from #3)

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:55:49 PM

  • and a major crack in #2 turbine building

    by Edano 9/29/2011 9:59:46 PM

  • @Edano you are on top form tonight
    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 10:00:51 PM

    by elainekirk 9/29/2011 10:13:41 PM
